Trying hard for that invite.

negative ghost rider, but great assumption on your part. Rize and I are good friends and I’ve hunted his ranch dozen of times.

Pics I took last year, including a rattlesnakes worst nightmare

Ended up having a nice 9 come in that’s probably the most mature buck I’ve seen so far.

Never know what you will see down here.

I make this trip with Rize a few times a year, and it's truly God's country. I saw 4 different 10 points today. He's done a great job managing this place.

I couldn't act fast enough after taking that fallow picture to get a shot. Kinda ruined my night

Blaze- hell of an indigo there. We walked up on one turkey hunting one year that was at least 6 feet long.
Well, i say turkey hunting. I think we got hunted by yotes and bobcats more that morning than anything else.

My brother that lives in NW Arkansas had 8 deer at his feeder which sits about 15' from his patio. He was sitting outside on it when they came up. He does not hunt anymore, but enjoys seeing them.

I only kill one buck a year. I occasionly will kill a doe for someone who needs meat.

I’ve seen 33 deer and and 28 Javelina’s and the feeder hasn’t gone off yet.

Nice, I have never hunted south/west TX. Go to the midwest and west hunting but notTX yet.

Was looking into some of the draw hunts they have for Aoudad but damn those are some long odds for getting picked.

Did you ever try eating a javelina?Woman I used to work with Dad was on a lease southTexas, she raved about how good they were. She mentioned they were somewhat difficult to skin without “tainting” the meat.

We just lost the place in South Texas that we hunted for the past 20 years, after sitting in East Texas deer blind yesterday and today and not seeing a deer, my fourteen-year-old turned to me and asked "what are the chances we can get back on that other place?"

I consider myself an above average cook and know my way around the kitchen. Several years ago I shot a young female javelina on Ozona, Texas. Kept the hind qtr roast and let it sit on ice for 5 days draining the blood. Stuffed it with garlic and seasoning, let it marinate overnight. Browned it, cooked it slow and low in a brown gravy with onions for hours.

The meat had a very wild gamey flavor with a distinct after taste. House smelled funky from cooking. I ate 1/2 a plate, threw the rest in the garbage, and that’s the last javelina I ever kept. Others may have better luck as I’ll stick with wild pigs.

Hell no. I’m over run with them and could kill 60 tomorrow. It’s $500 a pop if you throw them out.

Another question-have you kept a rutting diary to see if rut is correlated with full moon.
I started keeping hunting diary some years ago and I have seen fairly good correlation.
I read Dr.James Kroll’s book and went back and checked previous years kill dates and it was fairly accurate.Since then has been fairly close.Lot’s of people say it’s b.s.
