If your O- What do you do with Bo if the board refuses the buyout cost?

2.3 mil - 3 years fully guaranteed
So 2.3 this year is a sunk cost
4.6 million to remove Bo Pelini
What if you request the funds to fire him but the board tells Scott no. What if they say “you made your bed now lie in it”
Do you just hope he rights the ship or do you but the bullet and take it out of your own contract?
Side note- These Scott Woodward contracts have to be brought up. Getting the guy is one thing, wasting money is another

I think the only option at that point is to try to find the next Joe Brady on the defensive side. Easier said than done but it is possible

Yeah hire an analyst and make him the de facto DC and delegate Bo to film study LOL. He might quit if we do that but why not.

I guess I depends how you as coach and your analysts evaluate him and the defense. Either demote him and take over or promote or just roll with him but hire some young safety and lb coaches.

Demote him and take playcalling responsibilities away

If he quits LSU doesn't have to pay the buyout. That would somehow be a problem??

Any coach can be fired for cause. If we end up 2-8, then I think that qualifies as cause. He was brought in to field a competitive defense, not the garbage we’re seeing now. Going winless the rest of the way shows that either he has no idea what the problem is or has no idea how to fix it. If he can’t perform his duties to the satisfaction of his boss, then he should be out.

Take over the defense and tell Bo to stay out. Because at that point you’re coaching for your job.

With the $$ already lost this year by the athletic department due to the virus, going to be tough to consider a buyout for Pelini or any of the other coaches as well. Sad to say, I think we are stuck for now. But something is seriously wrong when you see more players out of position not since the days of Lou Tepper! Could it be we just don't have the personnel for a 4-3 or is it all on the coaches?

I am still looking for a job like this or something close.

Send him to Tonga/Samoa to recruit 24/7 365.

Get the next Joe Brady on the O, too.
They're out there. Ask Joe Brady for some leads.

How many millions must we pay out, because O doesn't know enough football to take care of business properly?

Bare knuckle boxing match to decide...

Let's face it. Bo is going to get at least one more year because of Covid 19 and losing so many players from last year and right before season started. Not to mention, it costs too much money to remove him.
