Like staring at fast food or restaurant coupons I get in the mail for long periods of time.
Occasionally ill even create an order on-line just for fun then empty the cart.
Is this normal?

I mean at some point you are going to have to incorporate a god damn carb or 2 in your diet. If not any time you eat a piece of bread your body is going to freak out.
I understand going hard keto for a bit but you need to eventually move to just a low carb diet and not freak out if you arent totally keto.

If you completely cut out an entire food group you’re going to eventually break.

You can’t deprive yourself of anything. Everything in moderation will get you where you need to be and you’ll get there happy and with a smile. :)

At our house, we have been on keto for 4 months now. 90+ percent of days are absolutely normal. Then (especially late at night) a pizza commercial will come on the TV and I will go almost bonkers. However I have had no bread at all since starting. also no rice no potatoes, virtually no other starch, all of which made up a large part of my diet. The agreement the wife and I made was that we were not on a diet, but making a lifestyle change.
Regarding your diet, can you do it/stay on it? Absolutely yes. Thousands of people have adopted the keto lifestyle and you can too. There are thousands of great recipes you can make that folks who do not eat keto would think were very good eating.
Good luck. As for me, the temptations are still there, but I feel so much better eating the way we are that I pull through those starch cravings.
Good luck.

welcome.
pick up some powdered erithyorol and make meridian dog's cheesecake recipe. that will kill most of the dessert cravings.
i got used to food being nothing more than fuel so i had no problem making hamburger patties constantly for dinner and eating nothing else. sounds awful (especially for foodies on this board) but its not forever and it will fill you up quickly.
keep your eye on the ball; eat boring crap now so the weight comes off faster then you can transition into a more normal eating routine later on.
dont get too fancy with all the 'carb friendly' shite at grocery stores because then you get too dependent on stuff that may or may not stunt your weight loss progress.

You think that's hard? Wait until your doctor tells you to limit your sodium to 1500 mg a day.

I lost close to 50 lbs in the spring doing hardcore keto. However there was a week in late April that I broke down and ate an entire package of tollhouse cookie dough.

Wife and I have been on keto for about 5 months. I've lost about 40 pounds, her 30. Not as must as I would have hoped for by now, but its progress I'm happy with, especially without adding exercise.
I count my carbs carefully and then at the end of the day I'll eat Kirklands pralines to get my carbs to 20. They are about 1 carb per one full pecan (14 carbs for 28 grams). It's a nice treat and keeps me sane. I can usually get 5 or 6 of them a night.
