The victim's facebook page shows he had 4 kids from junior high to toddler age.
Those younger kids will grow up with only brief flashes of memory of their father.
This guy and the destruction that he has wrought will last for decades as these kids grow up with a void in their lives
I hope he gets the maximum sentence

People who works nights and then head straight to an open bar. The Bayou Bar on Airline Hwy in Gonzales use be full of trucks at 7am.

pretty sure we all know this same guy from high school. Not because it's really the same guy, but because we all know this guy.
I thought I recognized him too and then realized I did not know anyone by that name.

Sorry, but this should be a life sentence or death penalty offense. I have no tolerance for drunk drivers.

You have to jog/walk for exercise smart and not do it on the side of (or on) the freaking roads roads too because someone that is in impaired or distracted may run over you

Yeah, but that’s with PEDs.

Not trying to victim blame but, I am constantly surprised at where people will walk, bike, etc. And without proper lighting and gear so they can be seen.
I almost ran over someone last week walking on that little 6 inch strip of road just past the white line on a dark night, instead of walking a few feet off the road. Completely stupid if you ask me.

A little common sense goes a long way. It may be a “right” to ride a bike or jog on a highway but your right puts you in a very, very dangerous situation whete your safety is totally in others hands and you have no defense.

Found the guy who was never invited to the after party.

For what it’s worth, this guy got out the car screaming profanity at the victim for being in the road.

People with kids and jobs. I wouldn’t do it because we have sidewalks everywhere but maybe he didn’t. Even running on a sidewalk doesn’t really guarantee you safety.

Just to clarify, I believe this was not on the actual highway but on a spur that’s two lanes and has very little traffic, especially at that time of day. Very sad situation.

apparently he was jogging with a group of people, the rest heard the tires screeching and got out of the way but victim didn't hear due to headphones
