I enjoy your posts.. With that being said, what do you do with things like the plate stand? Also, has cigar been in humidor?

You have me interested in going to neighborhood sales looking for cast iron

I bought the plate stand because it’s mid century modern (50’s-70’s). It didn’t photograph well, but it’s cool as shite looking, space age looking
The cigar hasn’t been in a humidor. I found it in a ziplock bag, in the carport.

That's a Birmingham Stove & Range cornbread skillet. I hate cleaning those things up for people. So many nooks and crannies.

Nice finds. Antique- I am about to throw away a Nintendo ds xl and a Nintendo Ds lite... before I do are they worth anything?

They made some cast iron egg poachers, but those openings look a little big for it. Does it have any markings on it? That handle looks like the ones coming out of Taiwan.

I bought one last weekend for $40, sold for $140, had 5-6 games, carrying case, etc.
Yes, they are worth money

Looks fairly clean already. Heat it up for about 30 minutes at 350°, take it out and rub a LIGHT coating of Grapeseed Oil, bump oven temp to 450°, put it back in for 45 minutes, and repeat a time or two more. It will cook anything you want. Just don't be too generous with the oil.

“503” is the only markings

Thanks. This one looks like just the game and charger. Appreciate it. Who knows what else my kid has. In this damn room of his now that he moved out.

So each time you do a light coat of the oil? Like in between the 350 to 450 Changes?

Once you crank it up to 450 you don’t drop the temp again. You just want the skillet to be hot before you add oil.
But yes you add a light coating of oil each time it comes out of the oven.

The 350° is just to warm it up for the oil. You don't have to lower between each coat if you don't mind handling it hotter. You can let it cool some after taking it out of the 450°, but it needs to be hot for the next coat.
You shouldn't see oil standing on any iron you season. It should just shine a little. It will be sticky if you use too much oil.

Also, if you have big pieces of iron to season, like a dutch oven, chicken fryer, or bigger skillets, buy yourself a bamboo lazy Susan. Put your hot piece of iron on it when you're wiping your oil on. It makes it much easier to season.
