Dipping your burger into a sauce?

Never really contemplated it until today, but at Justine they offer their au poivre sauce with the burger. It was incredible. Tasty burger.

A nice medium rare I see. Not my cup of tea, but i drink all kinds of tea if you know what im saying, With that said, I dont think a med rare burger needs a sauce. Maybe an overcooked well down burger.

I detest ketchup on a burger, but sometimes i drag my burger thru my french fry ketchup..

That bun to meat ratio looks off. I see how the dipping sauce would help in this case.

That’s an interesting way to up-sell an $8 dipping sauce.
I think they just cut it to where the bottom bun is a bit thin.

With or without the dipping, that burger doesn’t look very appetizing.
Though the ordering a burger rare is on brand for you. I appreciate the consistency.

I'm not sure why his looks so meh either. The photos on Yelp look great.

It was really, really good. I feel like an a-hole taking pictures of food, so I just quick snapped it. I sure as hell didn’t do it Yelp review quality.

I've heard their burger is fantastic. Maybe I'll make the sauce next time I make burgers.

It was really subtle and complex. Sounds like it would be really peppery, but it was not at all.

You love posting medium rare burger shots

I take my burger on the undercooked side, but that's fairly rare, even for me. Almost looks like it came out cool.
I mean, I still would have eaten it, but just saying

I used to do med-rare, but I've converted to medium. Obviously I don't want an overcooked dry hockey puck, but I just don't enjoy a cool-center burger. If you hit medium just right, the fat has just started to melt so its juicy and hot.

I asked for it, ‘as rare as they’ll send it out’...and they did it to perfection. Probably the best temp burger I’ve ever had.

If I want tartare, I’ll order tartare. If I want a burger, I want it to at least be warm in the middle, which is generally in the neighborhood of medium rare.

Mid-rare shouldn’t have a cool center. And I hear you on a perfect hot medium, but I’ve found that ordering medium rare generally telegraphs “I care about how my burger is cooked” more than medium does. And if you’re going to send out my burger medium well or worse, just let me know in advance. I’ll order chicken.

For some reason, dipping a burger into ketchup hits totally different than putting it directly on the bun.
