Incredible. You'd think more would want something to watch staying home too..

NO existing dynasty this year hurt.

What hurt was their liberal BS, anti Trump, BLM Marxist and Chinese loving nonsense along with going up against the NFL.

In twenty years a sports bar trivia question will be “who won the 2020 NBA championship?” And nobody will get the answer.

Honestly, I would bet the chances of people remembering who won in the COVID bubble year than 2019.

It really is sad to see a professional American sports league, which was one of the greatest in the 80’s,90’s, 2000’s, being hijacked by an ignorant basketball phenom, couple with a gutless coward of a commissioner.

It is truly awesome to know that when LeBron‘s greatness cannot be refuted, people on this board resorts to ratings.

its one of the more embarrassing pivots this board has ever went too.

NO existing dynasty this year hurt. GSW would have had better ratings. There is no doubt that many did not watch due to their dislike of lebron.

You know what is more fun?

Multiple good teams with superstars spread all around which lead to competitive regular seasons and playoff series.

Play woke games, win woke prizes. It’s too late for them, nobody cares anymore. I haven’t watched a game in the bubble or a NFL game all year. I lost care for these two sports and don’t feel I’ll pay much attention to them the rest of my life.

The bubble could have been the ideal scenario To crown a title. I Thought it would be, but I erroneously made a couple of assumptions that turned out wrong.

1. I assumed all players would equal the bubble on the same footing. didn’t happen, guys like russ and Harrell and others were forced to enter the bubble late and never were able to get into game shape due to COVID, death in family, etc.

2. I assumed because there were less games before the playoffs, that the playoffs would be less influenced by injury than others. didn’t happen, guys like dame, Russ, and 2 of the heat top 3 players suffered injuries that hampered them severely.

so there was a chance this could have been the perfect scenario to crown a champ, but it didn’t turn out that way due to unforeseen To me circumstances. I had it wrong back over the summer.

18M for the warriors game last year for comparison using the same ratings. That’s a huge drop off regardless how anyone spins it.

agreed, but then how do we rationalize why jersey sales are through the roof?

seems like people are still getting advertisements and then buying merchandise at higher rates than ever....despite not watching?

something is not adding up here

Height of the NBA in terms of popularity, you had the GOAT retiring, unrealistic to see those numbers again.

There’s literally no argument they can make to justify these bad ratings to make them look good either a) the audience hated the political hypocritical bullshite and changed the channel and/or b) product simply wasn’t to par with their competitor sports, both can be true very VERY bad
