our DL isn't really seeming to do much. no pressure and blocked out of running plays

the LBs are a mess

there are obviously communication and read issues

i think Bo P's anger likely rubbed some guys the wrong way

All of what you said and then when they constantly give up play after play, point after point they have BP screaming in their faces and they’ve never experienced anything like that so they shut down and give zero fricks.

i said this in another thread but the ones who learned from Aranda and understand what needs to be done will tune out a vastly inferior thinker who is clearly screaming b/c of that inferiority. recipe for major clashes

Who is ultimately responsible for the product on the field???
I like Coach O. He’s a great recruiter and motivator, but he is the one who set the table.

So what’s the players excuse for playing like trash a lot of last year with soft and gentle genius Aranda?

Are the coaches supposed to sit back and Pat them on the head and tell them “you’ll get it next time champ!”

Out of position. . Other teams using our aggressiveness against us. We running ourselves out of plays. 2 of our LBs need to sit and watch .

we had injuries and he was tinkering with different concepts. clearly they weren't ready for them and they worked on it

that's why we dominated to close the year

you think Pelini is doing something similar this year?

the coaches are supposed to put them in position to succeed and communicate how to do it effectively

when the coaches fail at this, they certainly aren't supposed to yell at the players for the coaching failure

I see a DC installing things on the fly and the unit is confused

Grant Delpit's injury really hurt us last season. He played into shape by the end of the season and we really played well. We also had LB like Pat Queen who could play sideline to sideline.

The SEC is unforgiving, and a new coordinator, new defense, losing tons of players, no spring, shortened offseason are taking its toll.

Off the top of head, I don’t believe we have a coverage safety on the roster. Im fairly certain we finally just dropped Stingley back at the end. LOL

Our pass rushing phenom Gaye got the ball shoved down his throat.

We have no interior line play.

What our LBs lack in ability, they make up for in total lack of position awareness.

But ultimately, this is a situation where the team takes on the personality of its coordinator.

Burrow, Brady, and Aranda left with the brains, and the rest is on display. I don’t really want to pile on, but the level of embarrassment requires it.

You brought In an outsider, with a completely different scheme, when the game has passed him by...

Just wait until LSU starts pLaying real teams...the offense will go into a shell of itself! Why? Bc SE is back in control, running 2018 offense. Deep pass plays and attacking the outside, like today. No pick plays, no bunch formations, no deep ins / conbo routes or attacking the middle. Keep thinking he called 90% of plays.

Let’s see...

They can’t defend the pass
They can’t defend the run
They don’t know their assignments
They can’t get pressure on the QB
They can’t get off the field on third and long
They can’t tackle
They can’t get off blocks
They can’t make mid game adjustments

That about cover it?

Probably true about lack of training camp. Also it would have been much better with OOC games to tune up with before being thrown into an SEC schedule.

Look at Kiffin’s offense. He just arrived in the offseason and he put together and installed what he wants to do with very little talent.

Pelini comes to LSU and it looks like we haven’t practiced at all. Everything looks slow and reactive.

We may have a Canada 2.0 situation brewing in terms of, how does Bo really fit on THIS staff? Him and Raymond were together briefly at both LSU and Neb but how does he fit with the other defensive coaches he inherited. How does he relate to the analysts? How does he fall in with the offensive staff and the coaches who returned from last season. Is there a disrespect thing happening somewhere in there and starting to trickle down?

I personally just think his best days were in a different era of cfb especially SEC fb...the “second time at bat” thing rarely works out, now he’ll be remembered more for this shitshow than actually winning a natty in 07. His defense improved SECCG aside in 2005 but that was then. I watched 4-5 opponents on the schedule playing today who im quite sure will be able to name their score on this D. Veterans have regressed and they’re making camp errors. Somethings very wrong and O can’t let it fester much longer. It was a questionable hire from the get go.
