**update**

Other parties insurance rep called me and they were accepting 100% responsibility. So thank god for that. Car gets checked out tomorrow. Hopefully not too bad and it’s no underlying structural damage. I appreciate the OTs wisdom on some of this and allowing me to laugh through a bit of it because it has been pretty stressful thinking they may place me partially at fault or try and sue me over it or something when I really did nothing wrong.

**Update**
Just talked to insurance today. Needs to be kicked up to independent arbitrators since we are both on the same insurance. The guy who ran the stop sign and all other parties in that car have indicated that they are injured. So I assume they’re trying to get paid. I just talked to Geico today about organizing a doctors visit myself because I’ve had some actual pain in my torso and neck on the side of my body I was hit on and wanted to make sure I went through Geicos appropriate channels to deal with this to make sure in 4 months or something I don’t ignore it and get left holding the bag because I didn’t get it checked out sooner. So that’s all fun to know that is potentially coming down the pike for me.

****

Going to pick my friend up from the airport after a few months in rehab to come live with me since his wife is divorcing him when all of a sudden some guy runs a stop sign at the weird intersection you have to pass through to turn left on Washington and Broad.

My first thought is snag pics of the plates in case he bolts but thank god he asked us both to pull over. He was being slightly agressive about it so I was trying to keep cool and my head on a swivel and put the car in a safe place and avoid traffic.

Well within maybe 1 minute I shite you not this dudes sister, grandma, grandpa, aunt, dad (who all identified themselves to me) and god knows who else all were on the scene. Literally in a minute. I was completely dumbfounded how such a large group of people could have been on the scene like that so quickly. They kept harassing me saying I hit them when they clearly T-boned me from the side. I try to be polite and ask how they're doing and I'm met with mostly coldness and hostility and not really any cooperation in terms of exchanging information. I called the police and after about 2 hours they finally showed up. I basically had to sit there with the entire group right there periodically coming over and harassing me. Honestly kind of terrifying to be stuck out by yourself in a neighborhood I'm not really familiar with with people being adversarial. I feel like I need a whole pack of cigarettes and I don't even smoke.

ETA: I had considered putting out an All Baw Call saying I may need somebody to get me out of a tough spot

Eta2: Called the salon owner next to the crash this morning. She said she saw the whole thing and would testify that the dude that hit me ran the stop sign. Local business owners coming to my rescue. I feel like I have a good amount of evidence but this should hopefully help even more.

It’s strange that they all took the same day off of work.

Happened to my son. Total scam. Look for a white dude in a nice car driving through the hood and ram him.

Hope you took pics of damage on their car and the intersection. Did the police assign the other person fault or issue a ticket? Report to your insurance company ASAP and get your version on the record. Call his insurer too and tell them what happened and get the ball rolling on a rental or whatever you need.

Good luck.

From my experience with almost the exact situation, NOPD is about to frick you even worse.

Took the insurance agency 2 years to settle the case. The guy T boned me with multiple witnesses and my insurance company eventually decided there was equal fault.

NOPD accident report had me hitting him then flipping him upside down. Absolutley none of the damage reflected what the report said.

Every one of them now has a lawyer and is going to sue for injuries sustained in the crash. Standard operating procedure in the hood.

You should blame on this on your friend. If wasn’t an addict he would’ve never gone to rehab and gotten divorced and you wouldn’t have to pick him up from the airport. None of this happens if it weren’t for your friend

Good lord that makes me nervous to read. I probably would have stayed in my locked car...

and left real quick.

If you both call Morris Bart, what happens then?
