Riley is still probably the best offensive coach in the game. I just don’t know if there’s anything he can really do to fix that defense any time soon, so OU has probably hit their ceiling.
They have to hope for a year they can get in the playoffs and the other teams have suspect defenses.

Riley is very young, do not forget that. He is learning. Guarantee he struggled with the Covid change more than a coach who's been around a lot longer.
He is not getting fired anytime soon. He is a young offensive guru that produces first round QBs on the regular and puts a ton of eyes on OU every year. He clearly knows defense is the biggest hurdle. If he can figure that out finally, they will be incredibly dangerous.
