I agree. Trump breezing through this would be huge for his covid views and opening things back up. If he gets seriously ill it will look bad and lead to more hysteria.

Not really. Those who will be sympathetic are those who already support him. Those who don't support him are hoping this is a death sentence. Those who don't care likely weren't voting anyway. This isn't the Reagan assassination attempt.

This, I agree with. The POTUS had this "death sentence" that fewer and fewer believe to be true every day, and is just fine...at 74 years old.

Of course, the Dems are 100% predictable. If he is fine, they will say it was because of the privileged healthcare he received...."Healthcare he is trying to take away from you!!!"

Anything short of death will be considered a Trump fake because as we know this disease is a death sentence.

I think in the short term this hurts Trump politically. He has admittedly said he did not want to cause panic, etc, and I understand that. But a balance must be struck between the health of the people and the health of the economy. They are not equal.

Unfortunately, if he had to choose to get sick, it should’ve been earlier, not late. The narrative will be similar to Boris Johnson in UK, who was a little less skeptical but whose attitude has changed now and has everyone loving him.

I don’t know if Trump can do that in 4 weeks. His opponent has been running around in a mask and he hasn’t....and now he is sick. That is a symbolic defeat in THAT issue if anything.

Godspeed on him getting well I’m a healthcare professional and I’m on one side of this covid battle like every other professional. But we know right now that PPE is huge and a vaccine is probably just 30% of the battle. We need to wear masks. If everyone was given an N95 right now and started wearing it Monday, we would wipe this thing out in two weeks

There will be no sympathy from the left for sure or from the media. They will discuss how he didn't wear masks along with those around him.

I could see a couple things happening.

-They blast him for not wearing a mask or having his staff wear mask, which is setting an example to the public. They point to this is the reason we all need to keep wearing mask.

-If he comes thru this quickly, they will question what treatment he got and why isn't this being made public and coordinated with the govt. Why are these treatments available to the elite and not the public.

-If he is treated with HCQ or Ivermectin, will the Trump team put that out there or will they keep that info private?

If he is treated with either and it is released to the public, the media and public outcry will be why can't that be used in the public arena.

If they don't release any details on treatments, the media can say that he is holding back therapeutic treatments from public to help big pharma or for not caring about the public, ie Woodward's interview about holding back from the public.

Team Trump will need to play this carefully to limit the ammo that the media has or uses. Do not doubt, whichever way this goes, the media will create an angle to attack and try to change the public opinion and try to sway the undecideds and suburban women.
