That's when I knew he would win. They called him out on it and instead of hemming and hawing like all these full of shite politicians he said, "that doesn't make me a crook it makes me smart" in regards to taking advantage of the tax laws.

Love the balls on this guy.

Assuming that he's followed the law, which we should because I haven't seen evidence to the contrary, do you think it's really a good thing that the law as written to so thoroughly advantage the really wealthy? This isn't really about Trump per se. Sub him out and sub in the billionaire of your choosing and the point is the same. Billionaires paying less than $1k in federal taxes is crazy.

He sold almost all his stocks 4-6 years ago to pay for losses from his golf clubs. That tells you all you need to know about his investing smarts.

Of course everyone's entitled to their own interpretation of everything, but I'm seeing a slightly different story. What I see is that he divested himself of stocks around that timeframe you cited in order to avoid conflicts of interest, or even the appearance of such. All of which makes much more sense than your interpretation. JMO

You should be outraged at your CPA.

How many people in the political establishment make millions from their position of power? TigerDoc and Demshoes have no problem voting for the Feinstein's and Biden's of the world, along with every other establishment hack who have been politicians their whole lives but are somehow worth tens of millions of dollars. People going into positions of power to create their wealth is far more dangerous than wealthy people using the established law to maintain their wealth.

We dont pay federal taxes on our wealth or net worth.

Why is this so hard to understand?

Now, that’s an entire different subject and far to complicated to give a thorough answer.

But, here u go with my thoughts

Income should not be taxed, consumption should, with no taxes on living expenses to survive(food, utilities, housing, gas, etc)

Job producers should get tax credits based on the jobs they create. Reward risk takers that provide jobs, the better paying the job, the higher the tax credits.

If we truly want equality, everyone should be taxed the same and rewarded when they contribute to the economy by risking their own capital.

None of this matters to them. The never-Trump folks on this board will continue to hate Trump over this, but worship those in DC who use our warmongering, foreign aid, corrupt NGO's and "charitable" foundations run by politicians to fleece the American taxpayers out of billions of dollars. These are the lemmings brainwashed by our media who are no different than the North Korean masses.

If you read carefully you'll note that I didn't make an argument that we did. But there is quite a bit of history in the country taxing wealth that earns a return. Or perhaps the concept of a capital gains tax is hard for you to understand? Anyhow, it's not like dude is just sitting on his money; he has dozens of active businesses from which he acquires cash. If current laws allow him to drive his tax responsibility to zero, he should pay exactly zero. But such a system is lopsided and should be changed.

I appreciate the response. The way that would play is that tax liability for really rich people would go down dramatically as compared to today and would go up for everyone else equally as dramatically. I don't think that dogs going to ever hunt.

Why is it so hard to understand he has had zero income the last 4 years. He donates it all. Taxes aren’t on your net worth it’s on your INCOME for that year.

Trump and Trump Corp is under a continual audit process. The IRS has apparently been satified with results for over ten years.

The only people at the NYT that know how read the return would be the firm that handles the NYT Corporate taxes.

Someone needs to go to jail. The half assed Prosecutor in the southern District of NY for ignoring the Jusge's orders and leaking returns, (if the NYT actually has them) or, someone at the IRS.

1. Why? Because you’re able to utilize business losses to offset business income? Why should someone pay taxes if they haven’t generated net income?
2. Biden participated in drafting most of those laws.
