Cause the Linehan hire was the agreement to get the Nussmeier QB commit we just got.... thanks Paper Tiger!

Callaway had just as much to do with getting Nussmeier to LSU!

It would have been the perfect time to transition to an admin role. I'm sure E has a lot of football knowledge, and I do think he wanted to transition to some stability, but you have to develop a playbook through many years of consistency in order to get the Clemson type stability. Even Saban has his own playbook that his OCs run. I don't think O is at that stage. He could get there, but needs a lot of help in the interim.

Looking at the game film, the plan was similar to plans from last year, but Brennan's hesitancy is killer.

This is likely the main reason, and it's a stupid reason to hire a coach.

Why is that funny? How do you invest $1.8mil into two guys with shite track records

LSU needed another college guy that understand what works in college. That can manage his own plays.

Its Cam Cameron all over again, except this time we have 2 Camerons. Ensminger and Pelini are here for the duration of O's career. Its the BBQ boys all over again. Plus I am so over the Lenihan hire, I was against it from the start and no more so than ever.

I’m sorry but hiring Linehan just for Nuss isn’t worth it. Yes it’s important to have a good QB commit but if that was the deal you’re asking for disaster from the start. You are forcing a marriage between coach and player and that never works. I find it hard to believe we wouldn’t be the leader for Nuss even without Linehan.

this definitely seems to be a Cam Cameron situation. My only hope is that O realizes this and makes a correction. He knows what happened to Les because of devotion to Cam.

I agree with previous posts. Get a young offensive minded up and comer that eats, sleeps, and breathes offense. It won you a national championship. Why in the hell you wouldn't do it again right away baffles me.

It's solely because those people leave and O wanted someone he wouldn't have to replace in 2 years, who happens to be his friend. Honestly you could say it's laziness and you wouldn't be wrong.

Why do we need Ensminger at all?

When all is said and done, his affection for Ensminger May be O’s downfall.

In other words, coaches that no one else wants.

Play calling wasn’t the issue yesterday. Execution was.

E is the problem, and he needs to go. It’s pretty ridiculous that LSU pays O roughly $7 million per year to make questionable hires on offense. He needs to hire an offensive coordinator that runs a spread offense, and let him run it. If that guy wants to bring in an assistant, so be it. This experiment with E needs to end.

Isn't Linehan supposed to be a QB/Offensive guru?

Leach installed a new offense with a tranfer QB during a COVID19 pandemic.

LSU looked like CLM retreads yesterday.

Brady and Aranda we do not have nor talent overall do we have. Step back and think about it. LSU went from the one of, if not, the best seasons in college football history to relying on a Samford coach along with Harvard and Nichols transfers to save the program. LSU had massive coaching brain drain and talent loss.

I will tell anyone, especially after sitting there watching play after play develop, the offense is fine. Just like last we constantly had guys running wide open. Unlike last year we had a QB making his first and struggled mightily to get the ball to those guys. Even the OLine, with the 7 sacks, I give a pass. Ball comes out on time and you can take away 5 of the 7.

“He’s very smart, very intelligent, knows football and I think the most unique thing about him is that he’s worked on both sides of the ball,” said Iowa running backs coach Derrick Foster, who worked with Callaway at Samford. “He has it. He has the tools. He has the ability. He has the mindset and can coordinate an offense. He understands how to cater to his players. And he’s full of energy. I loved being around him, enjoyed coaching with him and can’t say enough about him.”

Worked both sides of the ball! Two years with Saban. Maybe he can take over for Pelini!
