I left my gf with you, only to return to find her like I left her. Freshly fricked.

I would expect no power.

You might not lose it, but I would expect to.

The only way I’d ever leave Baton Rouge for a hurricane is if you need electricity to survive. And I’d have a automatic generator if that was the case anyways. It’s ridiculous to scare all the chodes lurking on here into thinking they need to evacuate Baton Rouge.

I have an old gigantic white oak in my backyard. Would wipe out the whole house if it fell. Anything over a 1 and I'm not staying in that house. I may not "evacuate", but I'm not staying there lol

I think the biggest issue would be the availability of hotels.

If you have a place to go (a friend, a relative, etc) I think this would be fine for people taking I-10.

I can’t remember when but people were driving in and out of Lake Charles within two days for a faster (and obviously much closer proximity) hurricane.

The biggest issue is probably just having a place to stay.

So are they thinking now that high pressure system may hang around longer than thought, keeping this thing from taking that eastward curve they were expecting?

Guess we'll find out at 10:00am what the new consensus is.

Lord, I hate living life from 4 to 10 to 4 to 10.

I appreciate the reply. I've had this thing planned for 3 weeks, and the last thing I want to do is put anyone in harms way. Just genuinely curious on what to expect from this thing based on the landfall location.

Looks like I'm going to have to give everyone a final answer by today or first thing tomorrow morning.

Dr Richard Landry (RIP) and I stayed outside all day for Gustav. We were changing a battery on a low lift pump in 60 mph winds.

We would drive from the house to check the houseboat during the storm. We ate breakfast on the houseboat while it was gusting to 100 mph.

After the storm I rode along the high water line in an airboat shooting water moccasins. They were all pissed off and would rare up at the boat with a 600 hp airplane motor!!! Fearless snakes.

Watched a few roofs come off of barns and sheds. That was something to see.
