"I pledge allegiance to the United States of America, one nation, indivisible, under God, for real."

This is so sad. I guess it wasn't on his teleprompter. I'm starting to feel bad for the man.

I pledge Allegiance to the flag
of the United States of America
and to the Republic for which it stands,
one nation under God, indivisible,
with Liberty and Justice for all.

He was only off just a little bit.

I think this one is manipulated (both sides are doing it).

But, it works because it is entirely plausible.

He said “for real“. I thought you were joking. He actually said “for real”.

I saw it said that he wasn't trying to recite the pledge as much as refer to it to make a point, but the "misstatement" is a valid concern that he doesn't know it well enough to effectively refer to it. It's like "the thing" statement he made previously.

This is crap. I’m all about calling out his decline. It’s a real issue.

He was not trying to recite the Pledge here, though.

This. There's been some pretty good stretching going on from the right when there really doesn't need to be.

I think we all get that he wasn't there to recite the pledge of Allegiance, but the fact is, after being in public office for over 45 damn years, he still managed to mangle it to death.

He went off script and fricked up.

They would be crucifying Trump right now if he did the same thing.

100% agree with you on that.

They would be, but I like to think I'm better than those bottom feeders.
