how depressed must trump's camp be at seeing this: 2019 incomes rose highest since 1967

This would have been extremely potent ad material, and a fricking once in a century human blight completely negates it. One of the unluckiest things to ever happen to a president. If trump loses in november, the only fair thing to do is stop at end of 2019 when judging his economic legacy.

Median U.S. household income increased 6.8% to $68,700, the U.S. Census Bureau said Tuesday. That followed advances of 3.1% in 2016, 1.8% in 2017 and 0.9% in 2018. On an inflation-adjusted basis, median income last year was the highest on records dating to 1967.
Household income includes bonuses, Social Security, public assistance payments and interest and dividend from investment, among other sources.
The report provides an almost halcyon snapshot of Americans’ household finances before the COVID-19 pandemic shut down much of the economy, triggering the layoffs or furloughs of more than 20 million workers and reduced hours or wages for millions more.
The record 101/2-year-old economic expansion, which ended with the coronavirus crisis in February, continued to provide jobs to more Americans, lifting many out of poverty. There were 34 million people in poverty last year, 4.2 million fewer than in 2018. The poverty rate fell for the fifth straight year, to 10.5% from 11.8% in 2018, with the share falling in every region.

Other presidents have had viruses to deal with. They didn't have a radicalized and unpatriotic opposing party or press, true. But Trump misplayed the virus big time.

Lol this is so retarded, no matter what he did it would have been an as apoplectic circle jerk from the media and left.

It's not unlucky if it's coordinated.

Not since 1918 the haven't, not on this scale.

If by other presidents, you mean just Woodrow Wilson, I would say that’s not big enough of a sample size to make any kind of historical judgement on Trump’s performance with regards to the pandemic.

The Right going full retard like the Left usually does, is still going full retard.
Trump should have never made available the funds for governors and mayors to play the virus frickery on his constituents that they did, and continue to do. The whole COVID shitshow has been a massive overreaction that has benefited only the LEFT. Why the Right gets all squishy understanding/acknowledging this is evidence of how f'n soft it has become.

This "scale" is largely fabricated. Moreover, the Hong Kong flu struck when the population of of the US was 200 million, so 100K deaths is about 150K deaths today, and something tells me we didn't count suicides, accidents, etc., as HK flu deaths.
From the CDC -
The 1968 pandemic was caused by an influenza A (H3N2) virus comprised of two genes from an avian influenza A virus, including a new H3 hemagglutinin, but also contained the N2 neuraminidase from the 1957 H2N2 virus. It was first noted in the United States in September 1968. The estimated number of deaths was 1 million worldwide and about 100,000 in the United States. Most excess deaths were in people 65 years and older. The H3N2 virus continues to circulate worldwide as a seasonal influenza A virus. Seasonal H3N2 viruses, which are associated with severe illness in older people, undergo regular antigenic drift.

Luck implies there was no organized intent to gut the economy on OMB grounds.

I'm more conservative than you, Nancy.
For starters, his play should have been to not fund the systematic lockdown of nearly the whole country. It wouldn't have been hard to do given that's pretty much standard operating procedure.

I said and many other people were saying since the day Trump was elected and the economy was taking off that the left would crash the economy in 2020 to make sure Trump didn't win re election
And we were right
And we were right

I’m not trying to put-conservative anyone. I just don’t understand the “misplayed” coronavirus thing.
I actually like his approach.
He’s done what he could do within the limits of his authority. Rare for a POTUS to stay in his lane, particularly in times of “crisis.”
