LA Sheriff Challenges LeBron James to Match Reward Money On Shot Officers Suspect
Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva has upped the ante for social justice warrior, LeBron James.
Following the horrific incident involving a gunman shooting two deputies in Compton, Villanueva publicly issued a challenge to the Laker star to match the reward money for information leading to the arrest of the individual. The County has put up $100,000 while private citizens have offered $75,000.

NEW: LASD & the families of the two ambushed deputies have given me permission to show this graphic photo of the moment after they were shot. I’m told female deputy was shot through jaw, still radioed for help & applied tourniquet to male deputy’s wounds. Both stable now. @FOXLA

LeBron has been a public critic of violence and has used his public spotlight to draw attention to many cases involving the police.
The two deputies, one a 31-year-old female and the other a 24-year-old male, were sitting in their squad car at a Metro rail station when the suspect approached and opened fire through the window on the passenger side of the marked car. The deputies were able to radio for help, though both are listed in critical condition.
The sheriff’s department tweeted the video shortly after as they search for leads.
More disgustingly, protestors attempted to block the ambulance as it was headed to the hospital.

To the protesters blocking the entrance & exit of the HOSPITAL EMERGENCY ROOM yelling "We hope they die" referring to 2 LA Sheriff's ambushed today in #Compton: DO NOT BLOCK EMERGENCY ENTRIES & EXITS TO THE HOSPITAL. People's lives are at stake when ambulances can't get through
It was just over three weeks ago when Jason Whitlock wrote a column that exposed LeBron James as a bigot.
James, at the time of that column, was fresh off his conjecture over the state of mind for police who shot criminal Jacob Blake, saying: “You have no idea how that cop that day left the house. You don’t know if he woke up on the wrong side of the bed. You don’t know if he had an argument at home with his significant other. You don’t know if one of his kids said something to him and he left the house steaming. Or maybe he just left the house saying that, ‘Today is going to be the end for one of these black people.’”
What is plainly obvious is that this suspect most certainly decided that Saturday was going to be the end for a police officer.
Now the question becomes, will James reply or shut up and dribble.

I don’t think Lebron is dumb. I really don’t. It also amazes me that someone who can give off the appearance of intelligence can believe this statement is true...and only true of white people.

I’m no Lebron fan but this is stupid. LA county has a $3.3 billion sheriff dept budget.
How about focusing on catching the shooter instead of silly theatrics.

Good. Lebron is a joke in terms of his social justice awareness. Seems like a huge ploy to validate his "blackness" since he's essentially a sellout as defined by the streets. A man that is the definition of privilege is gonna lecture others on it? Hates the white man so much he takes their millions out of spite. Real hero he is. Go Lakers but frick LeBron if it is anything other than playing fricking basketball.

You will not hear a peep from LeBron about this unless it is him saying that police officers being shot isn't the problem. He's a douche.

Why because he reads to the 2nd page of every book?
And people like LeBron and BLM protesters really do believe that...that cops roll out of bed looking to hunt black people...and that criminality has nothing to do with it. That it doesn't matter if the murderer is fleeing, let him go...that's more important.

And yet he owns your brain.
You’re finding obscure shite about him that nobody cares about just so you can show off your “clever” new nickname for him you came up with today!

It looks like it is an offer to him to possibly show outwardly that he isn't anti-police, but anti bad police. Who is to say the shooter didn't hear guys like Lebron speak of white people and police openly hunting Black men and this cause them to do some hunting of their own? I have zero issue with guys like Lebron using their platform, but people with that much influence need to understand that their rhetoric when absorbed by people who follow them like prophets can be an issue. So Lebron openly accepting the offer and forging a partnership (even if just public) with the LAPD can go a long way towards causing actual change in the dynamic between LAPD and POC.

Of course. But I have little patience for blatant PR stunts. If they were strapped for cash, fine, but this is silly.
