quote:This, 100%. It's like they're pissed off when they see you pull up. The decline for McDonald's started roughly 20 years ago. Yeah, it's never been a quality source of food. But at one time even though you knew it was terrible for you, there was a consistency of quality in that you knew what you were about to get.
Why go to McDonald's and get treated like they don't want your business ?
And then also at one time you had your grunts working and if you had a problem, you could talk to the manager and get it straightened out. Now when you ask the manager, it's just another one of the grunts basically. I'm sure they pay management shite for salary, so that's what they get for candidates. McDonald's gave up a long time ago, across the board. Consequently, I gave up on them too.

The one in Prarieville is great

They are run by the franchisee out of Acadiana.
I go there versus the one on Highland and Airline.

CFA seems to manage hiring decent workers which translates into good service which translates into more business. Can’t understand why other fast food places don’t copy that model.
Its probably a chicken/egg thing at this point.
Working at McDonalds always had a stigma when I was a teenager. So those nice kids that apply at CFA aren't even going to attempt to work at McDonalds in the first place. Can't hire someone who doesn't apply.

Healthier too.
Almost every sandwich they offer at Panera Bread is more calories than a Big Mac.
Not saying McDonalds is healthy and obviously everyone defines healthy differently, but if you're talking from a pure weight standpoint.. these overpriced places that market themselves as healthy are only healthy when you select very specific items. Be careful with that marketing.

Just FYI...the brand new location by Costco on Airline this morning has sign taped to drive through menu..."NO shakes. Machine out for repair".
It took 3 weeks!

I’ve had issues with Siegen, Burbank, Perkins near College and Perkins near Bluebonnet.

The one at Burbank/Lee is supposedly 24 hours, but they never serve past like 10. They just straight up don't come to the speaker once the inside has closed.
I used to work at the casino and get out of there as late as 5AM sometimes, and I'd go there because it was the only 24 hours place. I would be so mad when they wouldn't come to the speaker.

A few years ago, I traveled to McAlester, Oklahoma and stopped in Paris, Texas. I ate at a place called Braums. It serves ice cream and hamburgers.
The service at Braums was outstanding and the bathrooms were clean. When I got into Oklahoma, I noticed an upgrade in cleanliness and service both in mcalester and Tulsa Oklahoma restaurants.

Outside of Chick-fil-A, this is the case with 98% of fast food restaurants in 2020. This goes back 15 yrs or more. Every now and then, you can come across one where the franchisee runs a good store. But more often than not, they all suck.

Most of the Raising Canes around here have decent customer service. They are probably the closest fast food place to Chick-fil-A from that standpoint. They also don't seem to hire trashy employees which probably is one reason.

Agree. Its like I said earlier. I really think that at this point, working at McDonalds/Popeyes/Taco Bell has a stigma for young kids so those places couldn't hire them if they wanted to.
Working at Canes was very normal/accepted when I was in high school. Seems to still be.
I personally worked at Sonic

I never worked in fast food or for a restaurant. I worked at Winn Dixie in HS. They used to make us wear long sleeve button down shirts and ties back then. It sucked arse snagging carts in August

I worked at Winn Dixie too! The one in Central. I was a cashier until the florist lady wanted some more time off with her family, so I did flower arrangements on her off days instead.
The job itself wasn't bad, but definitely one of those jobs where management hates where they are in life and abused their power. I remember being suspended for a week because they wouldn't approve requested time off for a vacation, so I went anyway.. as if I could just not go on vacation my parents booked and stay home alone

I worked there when it was at the old location that's now a hardware store of some kind. It was next to the old TG&Y. I'm getting old.

It’s been bad far longer than a few months.

Short sleeve polo style shirt when I worked there in HS. You may be a few years older than me.
