Obviously ratings are low because everyone is stuck at home.

The political board isn't smart enough to pick up on sarcasm.

You'd have more uovotes on the ot.

Is that the sport that used to have non-cry babies playing?

Never heard of her.

My TV won't stop on any sports right now. I hope it's actually worse than that TBH.

ABC slam-dunked over all other networks on Sunday night with the NBA playoff matchup between the Los Angeles Lakers and Houston Rockets. The game dominated the adults 18-49 demographic, delivering a 1.3 rating while 3.8 million viewers tuned in to watch the Lakers defeat the Rockets 117-109 to tie the second-round series at 1-1.

Ten years ago a game like that gets twice the viewership. Advertisers pay for eyeballs. The NBA was in a viewership decline before they became a political activist - interestingly this being true even though the NBA became more popular during the same period. And since the NBA became a political activist, the declines have increased.

You have to sign up with the Nielson company. I've seen it mentioned in one story that there are only 5,000 households involved and another story said 25,000 households.

So how do they come up with a number say, 210,000 people, watched the game?

Scoot is a miserable SOB. I can’t listen long before turning it off. He’s a disingenuous douchebag liberal....... so 1 sided but claims to be in the middle. He isn’t fooling anyone. But as far as the NBA...... good. Scoot is also not fooling anyone when he says he’s not a homo.

Your smart TV recognizes the programing and signals back to the networks. Not sure how many seconds qualifies viewership.

Each family (either box or reading diary) represents X number of houses.

It’s a heavily outdated system, IMHO, now that a significant percentage of the country has cable, satellite, or watches online.

It’s broken down into quarter hours.

If everyone turns on the game and sees players kneeing then turns it off, that first quarter hour has high ratings and the rest are flatlined. The overall rating is the average of all quarter hours for the show.

I don't understand how anyone can listen. WWL needs a complete lineup change.
The NBA ratings skyrocketed for the Lakers game this weekend.

"Nielsen has also begun collecting information directly from certain cable providers, including Charter. The data is collected and relayed through the customers' set-top receiver boxes and digital video recorders."

All the have to do is put another political turd in their fan's punch bowl. I'm sure that will fix any ratings problems!

The lockdown has me bummed out..

I'm gonna have to wait until next year to see all the empty seats in the arenas without pandemic excuses..that is unless the teams give away free seats to kids groups and charities?

Gonna be fun this next spring watching teams, leagues, and colleges tix renewal struggles..unless slashing prices..

It's coming.
