I wish it were like this in blue areas. Instead you get group shamed and ganged up on.
I live in a blue area and BEFORE mask mandates, back in early April, I went into a grocery store with no mask... some fatass who looked like that Joey's World Tour guy pulled out his phone and started to shame me, and other people joined in as well. Made a big uproar since I had no mask and finally a store manager came over and asked me to leave. Even though the store nor the city or state had a mask order yet.
The fatass proceeded to follow me into the parking lot as well.

Karen behind the AuroZone counter yesterday asked me if I "needed" a mask and I told her I was good. She then informed me that I HAD to have one to enter the store, I dropped my stuff on the floor and went towards the door when another guy behind the counter told me he'd take care of what I needed.
I politely told him I was closing my commercial account with him and not gonna spend another penny there. I then asked for her name and will contact their regional office on Tuesday to discuss this.

I was running at the park and got done with a 2 mile run and was breathing hard afterward, some lady with both a face mask AND face shield sniped at me "WHY DONT YOU BREATHE A LITTLE HARDER AND GET US ALL KILLED"

When the Right put up no fight and accepted all the BS mandates and restrictions, that opened the door to this kind of crap for the foreseeable future. It won’t be 12 months of every year, but mask mandates and restrictions on churches and schools and small business will be trotted out whenever the Left wants to slap the Right around and there’s a convenient flu bug hanging around.

You wont hear a word of Covid after Nov 4. FACT.

I am convinced there are people who believe this virus travels through the air like radio waves and infects people that way.
I am also convinced there are people who believe this virus is a death sentence if you get it, like being diagnosed with stage 4 cancer.
I believe that these two trains of fear intersect in some people, which lead to the lady who sniped at me at the park. I turned around and said "If you are so afraid why are you even out here" and she just ignored me and kept walking
I have a cousin with 2 young daughters, him and his wife have refused to leave their house since March. They just started to go out of their house a couple weeks ago but are still ultra 100% afraid and protective of their daughters, with the assumption that their daughters will die if they contract COVID. They even didn't go to my cousins(his brother's) wedding they were that afraid.

No. At Red Bar now in the panhandle. No mask order. JBE needs to come over.

This is what I have been saying since March... the time to resist all this crap was from the beginning. Instead we had cuckservatives help usher in this bullshite with "2 weeks to flatten the curve" and "its just a mask, just wear it for a couple weeks so we can get this over with and go back to normal"
Utter fools, do these moron cuckservatives realize that if you give these people an inch they take a mile.
The saddest part of all this is that some of my most conservative friends/family members are the ones buying into all this fear mongering and panic porn and hysteria.
Should have stood up and resisted from Day 1.

I live in Denver. The people here love masks and love stay at home orders. The governor put a mask order in place in mid July across the board, set to expire in 30 days. Shocker, on day 29 he extended it for another 30 days.
The numbers in Colorado are amazing and all the science supports this virus is nowhere nearly as bad as CNN portrays it. I have zero doubts he's going to extend the order another 30 days next week. It's about control.

I presently live in a rather lefty college town, and there is a bit of pressure to wear a mask in Wally World, Kroger, etc. I no longer do, and they don't say shite 'cause they think I'm a big o' bad-arse redneck that figuratively, might push back. When it comes right down to it, they skierd. I want 'em to keep on thinking that thang too.
The greatest feeling in the world is going into a store with MASKS REQUIRED signage on their doors and then going in mask free, seeing a bunch of other people in there mask free, and the workers not giving a single frick

The bad part of all these "masks"? People who wear them don't realize they are wearing nothing more than a DUST mask which provides zero medical protection.

They are going away now when you get away from the cities

The demographic that I see not wearing masks the most is easily black men. Most of the ones I see never wear masks, and if they are its not covering their nose/mouth. I bet most mask shaming leftists wouldn't dare say shite to a black man with no mask on, or in your case, a larger white man. They just like to pick on the easy targets. In NYC I would say 99% of white men wear masks outside, but only about 33% of black men do.
If you asked a random rabid leftist which demographic wasnt wearing masks they would all say redneck white men.

Signs are up, but I've yet to see anyone kicked out of a store or asked to put their mask on if not wearing it.
In Charleston, yes. In my part of Georgia? No.

I keep seeing ads saying how we need to wear masks, because even if they are not effective at stopping COVID, at least it shows that "You care"
So if these masks are to show others that we care, is that not forced speech? Sounds like a 1st amendment violation to me

quote:That's exactly right. It's all how you carry yourself. I used to spend a goodly amount of time in New Orleans. There is a lot of pick pocking and other petty theft going on there because there are a lot of drunk tourists on the streets. I learned to walk down the street with an air of confidence that would give off the idea to street punks that I just might be crazy enough to resist if they tried to stick me up. I had no trouble at all.

Visual compliance.....
Will it ever go away? Nah.

Purely anecdotal, but I'm seeing fewer and fewer people wearing masks around Atlanta. Folks are sick of this shite.
