I mean arguably 7 of the starting 11 for the US would be black if we had to put an ideal best choice 11 out there today.

Atleast locally

1) End pay to play
2) Create access to fields
3) Provide a path to show that there is a legit sports career out of it like the NFL/NBA/MLB do.

I mean that's the basic formula to increase the growth of soccer in the US for all demographics.

There's the issue of access to nearby soccer facilities and the "pay to play" club soccer format, but the real problem is that your average black youth will know first hand several older blacks who got college scholarships in football or basketball and were local heroes in HS. Perhaps they even know someone who made it to the pros. They think they have a real shot at money and glory in the pros, however unlikely. If they are good athletes there is someone filling their ears with promises of future success in football or basketball, and maybe filling their pockets too. What's the future for them in soccer? Maybe a partial scholarship to a college they've never heard of? A crowd of 50 parents to watch them play in HS?

Stop making it basically pay to play in America. Give inner city kids a chance to be coached by quality coaches.

Need to be more creative. That's not going to be realistic anytime in the near future.
