Same here. I was in a drive-thru grabbing a quick burger and saw a panhandler there with a dog. When I got to the window I added a cup of water and a another hamburger. I drove around to the other side of the building and walked over and fed it to the dog. I stayed there until he ate it all. Then, took the top off the cup of water so he could drink. I didn't speak a word to the dude. Got in my truck and drove off.

I see a cat that is going to coax a bunch of imbeciles into anthropomorphizing it.

The default position is that animals and humans don't have souls. No one has to prove we don't have souls, you have to prove that we do.

Who says that’s the default potion? Both sides are from a place of faith. There is no default side. People use that argument (prove me wrong) as if they come from the side of default. In order for there to be a default there has to be an ultimate expert or law on the subject where there has been proof backing up that claim. There’s not. So you also can’t claim default.

Man... 100% agree after seeing so many videos online of different animals’ behavior that proves they have the same emotions humans do... love, sadness, fright, anger, happiness...

There was a study done on dogs and their owners not too long ago that basically proved this. They were each hooked up to a machine that reads brain waves, and the dogs and their owners were shown pictures of different things - including pictures of eachother and their families; also random things that made them sad, happy, angry, excited, etc as a dog or as a human.

Every single time the owner's brain and dog's brain would react the exact same way to these stimuli, and each time the area of the dog's brain that processed the image matched their owners'. They even inserted pictures of things that were unique to the pair, such as family members of the owner or the dog's favorite toy. They'd always react the same.

They did the same study with cats and their longtime owners and had the same result. Just as a control, they used random dogs/cats and people that weren't connected to eachother and found that neither reacted to the stimuli the same as the "couples" did.

I'll see if I can find a link, but certain animals either have a "soul" or are very much in tune with their owners humanity and emotions. Either way they think and feel on a much deeper level than just some non-sentient creature like a sea sponge.

They have souls and dogs especially are pissed that the Mexican Pizza is no longer on the menu cause that thing falls apart and gets everywhere for them to scarf up off the floor.

I gave my story on how much I love my cat but I’m jokingly surprised at this

I will say my cat barely eats when we are on vacation according who we have go by and check on him. Granted it’s a cat, so every 2-3 days is enough. He does meow and rub against us like a son of a gun when we get back, won’t leave our side. The rest of everyday life he seems annoyed at us

The monsignor I used to work with told all the children in church that dogs don't have souls, so I'll have to go with the monsignor.
