It will interesting to see down the road if all of these “opt outs” are represented by the same agent/firm.

Scratching my head
Here's what the Georgia 247 site was writing about him 2 days ago (basically why playing this season could really help his draft stock)
Clearly, these agents are on the prowl and are filling these kids' heads with nonsense. Jamie Newman is the exact person who should be playing. Opting out is a disaster for him.

Newman ran a lot of read-options and designed quarterbacks runs before transferring from Wake Forest. It is a non-sustainable way to play in the NFL. To his credit, he has a strong arm and is able to rip passes in the short and intermediate game. There are a lot of concerns in the way that he processes information. He does not throw with ideal touch and his downfield accuracy is spotty, largely due to his inconsistent follow through.
The tool box is stuffed, but the tools need some polish. If former NFL offensive coordinator Todd Monken gives him a long leash, he could really take off this season.

getting beat out by jt daniels prolly
Nah, he's been getting hype. Prolly seeing guys at LSU opting out among others recently have made him think just to look forward to making a professional football career. Think about it, with the eligibility rules he still could transfer to another school and play next year as a senior+, but he decides to immediately focus on the draft?

Rumors swirling this is only the beginning and many teams are about to be hit with this.

I'm gonna be honest, if someone was to randomly ask me who was Georgia's starting qb beginning of this year, I would of had no clue lol. And yet he is opting out to prepare for the draft?
That's just because you pay absolutely zero attention to anything outside of LSU. Him, his draft potential, UGA's season with him, and QB rankings from everywhere have littered the college football information web the entire offseason.

His dad said that he hasn't heard from Kirby!

Daniels is a superior QB, so if anything this will probably help Georgia.

Not going to happen. Stop holding your breath.

Thanks, I forgot he was already a grad transfer.

He's played like a half of cfb and isn't cleared for contact yet.

When do Bama's starters start opting out?
They have been conspicuously immune to this opt out phenomenon. Makes you wonder $$$$$$$$$$$$

College football going forward is merely an NFL developmental league with most of its fans hanging onto their nostalgic memories. Hard to get the emotions out of it, but at the end of the day, it’s a business to develop and propel players to the NFL.
I hate to break it to you, but college football has LONG been "merely an NFL developmental league." The ONLY reason players haven't left earlier like in college basketball is the NFL's rule that you have to be 3 years out of HS before you are eligible for the draft.
This situation has just made it "acceptable" for players to sit out their 3 year before entering the draft. Still, the number that are actually good enough to do so AND not suffer a diminution in their draft "stock" is pretty small. It will be interesting to see what happens this year as guys like Chase, Newman, etc are opening the door for other guys to have great seasons and pass them up on the boards of NFL teams. For a guy like Chase, that risk is probably minimal. But it's not non-existent. Hell just from LSU alone last season, Burrow, Jefferson, CEH, Queen, would not have sniffed the 1st round (possibility not even been drafted) had they not played last year.

He threw for 2500+ yards in 11 games in 2018 on a terrible USC team.
And he'll be cleared to play.

Not only that, but Daniels was only 17 years old that season - due to graduating high school in only 3 years.
And like LSU, their offensive scheme was overhauled the following season (last year) to be much more QB friendly.

PFF had Newman as the #3 QB in the country behind Fields and Lawrence.

I’ll bet Pollack is still calling fir Georgia’s offense to average 7,000 yards a game even without their quarterback. That guy is such a tool.

He compiled some yards on a bad team but he hasn't proven he's actually good yet. He was highly decorated out of HS but USC's churned out a few highly recruited eventual transfer bust QBs in the past decade.
