I’d honestly be okay with canceling the season.

Truthfully, all we are finding out is that college football is a means to an end for these guys. They can say what they want about “being there for their brothers” or “wanting to play” but the reality is that they couldn’t care less about the team.

If they don’t care, it’s hard for me to care.

Why would the guys quitting not just say that then? Not a dig. Legitimate question. The guys in other sports are making it clear why they’re doing what they’re doing.

Just curious, any other programs first round picks all opting out 3 weeks before the season? I’m legit asking. If so, then I’ll say it’s not a problem with Ed’s program.

I don’t know anything more than anyone else, but if you believe this has to do with COVID or preparing for the draft you’re extremely gullible. Think about the timing. Think about the news. People don’t want to say it, but we all know why Chase, Shelvin, and quite a few more are quitting the team.
.

I promise you it’s not COVID, I also promise you these guys read the bullshite and most times they don’t pay any attention to it but things have been a little more crazier than normally.

One issue is that when you go 15-0 in spectacular fashion with people calling you the best team ever, it seems like a total letdown to play a 10-game season in empty stadiums with only some of the league's playing. If LSU was going to have the perfect season though, last year was the best season ever to have it.

Agree. It's why so many juniors went pro. Plus the season looks meaningless to me with so many teams opting out. The National Championship winner will be so tainted it doesn't mean near as much now. Don't agree with the "where's the loyalty to your team comments". Season is just not the same and could just stop if players continue to test positive.

I missed what exactly all that was about but yeah I’m hoping it’s not all that stuff coming in to play

There is already more than 1 mocdraft that has him as a 1st rounder. Some as the first DT taken.

That’s based on expectations of him continuing to improve, and having a big year.

Instead he’s going to be away from football for over a year, and struggling to keep his weight below 350 lbs.

The writing is on the wall that at best this is a season full of exhibition games. No bowl games, no playoffs. These guys were expecting a normal season when they announced they were returning.

At this point, it’s just not worth it. Take the money fronted by the agents, help your family, and get ready for the draft.

It sucks, but COVID and the reaction to it ruined college athletics this year.

I don't know why you are getting downvoted. This is the most level headed take and the exact type of expectations we all should have had from the start. Admittedly, I am disappointed too but I have confidence that O can keep recruiting well and sustain success in future, non covid, seasons.

This is potentially a very smart move by Tyler. If his weight has ballooned up to 370lbs like O said then hiring a trainer and getting into good shape over the next 6-7 months will get him drafted early. He’s dominate when he’s in shape.

Other programs don’t have wolves in sheep’s clothing torpedoing their season under the guise of a movement.

I was referencing Chase and Shelvin here. And no, no more prominent players at this time. A few that may hurt depth but nothing more. I really want this season to get cancelled at this point

As opposed to using the free trainer provided by the school? That dude is going to sit on his arse for a year.

What NFL? Hopefully, that group of ingrates has vanished along with the NBA by next fall.
