FPL is schooled up at the Hammond mall exit ready to roll.
there was a long line of trucks heading west on 12 as well
Entergy is my biggest business customer and I spend a lot of time at their service centers. Those linemen are 100% badasses

Will confirm that most lineman are awesome and really know and take pride in their craft.

IF you ever get the opportunity to do work with SLEMCO in Lafayette after a storm, do it. My aunt is their person in charge of lining that up and I promise you, you'll be well fed with what she arranges!
Stay safe. My baby brother is a lineman and I pray for them all.

I’ve gotten to be friends with baws who are linemen in several different states and 2 other countries and they are all some of the best people I know. It’s a good honest living worldwide with some hard working folks! It is always impressive to see the convoys.

Then you are not a man.

I just made the drive from Baton Rouge to Fort Morgan and must have seen 75 caravans of 3-5 trucks each.

Living in NC, I can confirm that linemen here are the equivalent of the “plant baws” from LA. Good folks.

We lost power and well water for 6 days a few weeks ago when the tropical storm came through the Northeast. This area was grossly underprepared for the storm. There were no teams staged in advance of the storm. It took a few good ole boys from Missouri to get the lights back on.
From my experience, the South has the best response to major storms compared to the rest of the country.

Well Entergy will be out at the first drop of rain so plenty of work to go round.
You, sir, know nothing of what you speak. Worked for GSU and Entergy for 20 years of my life. Worked hurricanes, ice storms etc from Galveston to North Carolina. Every utility company pitches in during times like these. Tons of contractors as well.
You sound like the type of customer that thinks everyone should be out climbing during the storm. smdh

You are correct. The reason they are so knowledgeable and prideful in their craft is you typically only get one chance to get it wrong.

I'm heading to West Texas as post and I can say that there is a major amount of convoys coming down 55.
Tree removal convoys and semis loaded with power poles
