And that 4th of July spike didn’t stretch and threaten the states hospitals. If there is a third spike it will be even smaller and less severe. Open. It. All.

Only 33 deaths and 2.5% positivity, with continuing decrease in vents and hospitalizations. fricking amazing how this is still a thing.

At the current pace of about -30 per day, hospitalizations will be below the June 13th low mark in less than two weeks.

I know of one of the deaths from this week. Elderly with severe health issues for a long time. I feel terrible for the family but these are not people we can sacrifice the economy and well being of everyone under 65 who is healthy for. Isolating the high risk and opening everything up is obvious to many people not named John Bel Edwards.

Stop asymptomatic tests so we can get the rate up!!!

I know you are joking but considering testing as a whole is down, that tells you only people who are actually feeling sick are getting tested.

There is no longer the run on testing like there was a month ago. Which makes the postivity rate that much more impressive.

I know someone personally in region 1 who feared they were exposed to it and that person's doctor is saying "no need to run out and get a test unless you start feeling sick"

That's great guidance. Should have been that way all along. Hell even the CDC is saying that now.

Second federal judge denies injunction, sides with governor on order closing bars

quote:

BREAKING: @LouisianaGov says he does NOT support Secretary of State’s Kyle Ardoin’s latest emergency plan for Louisiana for the November elections that would require many to vote in person...says that unfortunately the issue may end up in court.”

JBE just got 2nd judgement against bars
He’s not going to turn around & allow them to open

He’s fighting SOS mail in voting
He cannot say it’s safe to open up more while saying it’s not safe to vote in person

Until the voting issue is settled in court or the election happens nothing will change

the voting thing is such a made up issue too. You are around more people in a grocery store than you are when voting.

We have months before the election. We have one of the worlds largest chemical industry here. Why not simply mandate 6ft between voters, masks, and provide each polling place with sufficient disinfection supplies to sterilize reaching boring machine after each vote.

Start early voting earlier

A polling place would be one of the safest places since they are typically in schools & large areas
Plenty of space to social distance, wipe machine between uses & provide hand sanitizer
Provide gloves for workers handling ids
