Basically, this. And I wouldn't call it spite. It was for my own good. She started sleeping with another guy while I was away overseas in the service. Without getting too mushy, she well and truly broke my heart, so I decided "Fine. Move on". I decided that I wasn't doing any of that "but I want you in my life" mess. Was pumping gas about a year after it was all over when she pulled up to the other side of the pump. She kept trying to get me to talk to her, and I told her nope, not a good idea. Move along, please. She called me an a-hole, and I said "Yeah. I am. Goodbye". Got in my car and drove off. Haven't seen her since. She ended up marrying, and then divorcing that other guy. Years later, got a message from her mom on social media, telling me that she still loved me (like a son, pervs, like a son) and basically indicated that she thought her daughter had made the wrong call. Eh, well. You can't help what your kids do sometimes.

I didn’t steal it from Scrubs. Stealing it implies I claimed credit for creating it. All I said was it was one of my favorites.
If someone had said “wow that’s so clever did you make it up?” I would have happily said that I got it from one of my favorite TV shows of all time.
I’ve been listening to the podcast “Fake Doctors, Real Friends” and was reminded of that quote.

Had a ex break up with me because I slept with other girls while we were split for like a month and a half. She found out 8 months later. Cool thing is she only found out about one of the girls so it’s kinda funny to me

Mine just dropped off the earth blocked me from everything then months later saw me and wanted to hug me and have a conversation I just put my arm up and kept walking. She then preceded to blow my phone up with texts to tell me how mean that was and that she loved me.
