Remember how popular superior grill on government was on Thursday nights in late 90’s and early 2000’s? There would be a good band playing most every week and it was always packed

We went during that timeframe almost every Thursday night.

I was there 01-05. There was a really good Weezer cover band called tWeezer. I usually only saw them at northgate tavern.

Late '70's, early '80s for the dance scene.

Can’t remember who they opened for years ago at a show I attended, but the song “Beneath every Pearl” stuck in my head. Very good singer.

I went to HS with several of them. Small world Jake. And yes, Charles knows them all. I see him from time to time out here. Running like a damn gazelle.

crappy cover bands like Parish County Line and Neutral Snap.

These guys are so cringe. No clue how they’re so popular around the area.

Saw BTE at a Sig Ep frat party. Bush, Toadies, and Hum at PMAC in 95 was awesome. Endless names at Varsity from Incubus, Poe, The Urge, Marilyn Manson, etc. I think cell phones killed concerts, definitely their atmosphere. Went with my wife to see Red Jumpsuit Apparatus at Varsity in 2009. From the balcony all we saw was a sea of cell phone screens where the mosh pit and dancing fans used to be in our college days.

Best shows now are the annual Flogging Molly concerts when they pass through at Varsity and House of Blues. Cell phones in pockets there lest they get smashed in the drunken fury.
