What are some other very memorable vehicle accidents in Louisiana that really stick out in your mind?
Does anyone remember the lady on Corporate Blvd that had her backseat filled with large granite tiles that had to slam on her brakes and died? Early to mid nineties? Back when Corporate was mostly all woods.

I remember a similar crash with multiple teen deaths around that time on Joor Rd heading into Central near those softball fields. One of the kids that died was named Kevin McIntyre, I believe. I can't remember the others. Very sad.
ETA - this would have been late 80s or very early 90s

No, I mean wrecks with normal people, not celebrities. I know she died in La, but accidents that stick out that you can remember.

Jumped the levee? What year was that? Died?

Sad case where teens died in 80's on Drusilla I think. Racing and kids in back of truck.

Not in Louisiana, but in my county in North AL, there was recently a wreck where a guy driving a pickup, likely in excess of 90 mph, jumped a railroad track, lost control, ran off the road, took out a brick driveway, and hit a tree. The truck was thrown back onto the road where it immediately exploded, and was followed by three smaller explosions.
I happened to be passing through the area right after it happened, and saw the fire. The coroner said there was not enough of the driver to even determine sex, and no teeth for dental records. They had to send the remains to the state lab to be identified.

In early 80’s there was a wreck at corner of Tiger Bend and Jones Creek that killed a few students from Woodlawn.
Supposedly a bunch of kids that snuck out after curfew.

I remember. My mom was her friend or acquaintance. But I've forgotten her name.

My senior year of high school, we were all at a party down hoo shoo too road. I drove one of my friends home and my buddy had another girl drive his car home because he was sick, while her friend followed in her car to pick her up. I got home and my buddy and the other girl got home but her friend never showed up. A few hours went my buddy went out looking for her and found her car wrapped around a tree. She wasn’t drinking. It was just a freak accident in the dark part of tigerbend near Eliot and hooshootoi. That was one of the worst phone calls I’ve ever gotten. She was the nicest person I’d ever met. Labor Day weekend will make 11 years.

I have some Woodlawn related ones from the 1980s:
Judy Jones was her name maybe ? Neighbor of J Roy? I remember that. The girls snuck out after a night at that old skating ring Chuck Q's dad owned off Jefferson. They got in the car and that guy was going like 90 when he lost control. Sad times.
Another Woodlawn kid maybe a year later when his "Lil Red Truck" got slammed at 1-10.
And then the worst for me, was when one of my best friends, Jeff (son of Tiger great Scooter Purvis) died with a golden girl on 1-10. That was March 87 I think. That one still makes me sad and I still visit his grave from time to time.

Last year a woman was killed in a fiery crash in Baton Rouge. Apparently the driver intentionally caused the wreck
To make it worse, the woman was a traveling grief counselor
If I remember correctly, she had lost her daughter a year or two before to strep/staph infection complications
I can't imagine what the rest of their family has had to go through

A couple of my classmates died in an accident in 93 I believe. It was 1993 on Sullivan Rd in Central. They were leaving school and it was raining. Their truck slid in a curve and hit a guardrail. It sent them head on into a ford dually. That was a horrible time at school. Several students dead in a couple years. Traffic accidents and an accidental shooting while skipping school.

I remember that one as well. It was right by where all of those culverts used to be stacked.

That was crazy. The teen intentionally sped up and slammed into a random car. Just murder for no reason. So sad because by all accounts the woman was a saint.

Derrick White accident on Elliot Rd near hoo shoo too. PBS baseball always did charities for his family
Taryn Lemoine and a couple of other teens died in a wreck down hoo shoo too in 2002. I think one one survived
