I'd never say never... but I would be absolutely shocked if Thiago started against Arsenal.
I think he'll be eased in but not as slowly as Naby or Fabs. Thiago has played in tiki taka systems and high pressing systems for some of the biggest clubs in the world. He isn't going to be overwhelmed at Melwood

Also, seeing Hoever to wolves for £10mm.. Hope there is a buy back..
Not a bad bit of business...
Pearce confirms and said the price may rise with add-ons..
He also said we are looking at Jota from Wolves! Unexpected, I didnt even think he'd be an option or for sale... I like the move if it happens!

Jota for 10 or something like that is really sounding like it’s the next signing. That feels like an Edwards signings instead of 40 for a backup.

Is his contract up? I think he is easily a player they would try to get £30mm (or more) for..

#LFC are closing in on Diogo Jota from Wolves in a deal expected to be in excess of £35m

I know nothing about Jota. What does he bring to the attack? And who, if anyone, would be heading out to make room?

Just saw Pearce tweet that about Jota for 35!! So we are doing that.....wow. Klopp must really like him. Love the action.

He's versatile in attack, but Ive mainly seen him on the left side... skillful w/a good first touch, two-footed.. Doesn't have the pace of Mane/Salah, but he has a nice burst on him...
I think the knock on him is his consistency... he's only 23.. for some reason I thought he was older.. 25/26..
edit: looks like he had 13 goals in EPL/Europa last season

I think any of these can go if the right price comes in..

Brewster is probably on his way out soon.

Not sure how I feel about Jota
Still bitter about Werner

Seen metrics on Jota that are comparable to Mane at Southampton.
Werner’s wages were probably as big a deal breaker as the price tag.

that and his release clause was up in early June... I dont think FSG had enough time to properly assess the financial impact of Covid at that time.
Jota is on £60k/wk at Wolves... we can probably bring him in ~100k/wk
Ive read some comparisons to Mane, too. A knock against him was he was inconsistent and people thought £35mm was too much...
Hopefully, Jota's performances will rise to the level of players around him.
Also, a lot of talk that we will indeed sign CB (I hope so).

TWO DONE DEALS.....
* #LFC sign Diogo Jota for £45m on a five-year contract. Initial fee of £41m rising to £45m.
* Ki-Jana Hoever going in the opposite direction in a £13.5m deal. £9m guaranteed/£4.5m in add-ons. #LFC have negotiated 15% sell-on clause

Key to getting the deal done was Wolves’ willingness to be flexible on payment terms. They have accepted less than 10% of the guaranteed figure in the next 12 months. Most of that offset by initial payment from Wolves for Hoever.

On Ki-Jana Hoever, who had 2 years left on his contract, understand he was keen to move on to bolster his chances of first-team football. Juventus and Atletico had also shown interest. #LFC disappointed to lose him but felt it was a deal that suited all parties. 15% sell on.

Well that was fast. Was coming to post that 10% quote. Some really good business we’ve done these last two days!
Posted on 9/18/20 at 5:19 pm to jordan21210
Both players for an initial outlay of £9mm this season? If that, since Hoever will offset...
Given Lovren/Tsimikas was basically a wash... Mickey Edwards is doing smart business in these uncertain times

Any smoke on who the CB target may be?

Will be interesting to see if we can still offload some people, but considering all the variables at play, I’m still happy with the window
