Schalke sources confirm Liverpool have contacted them about Ozan Kabak. Official line - squad is settled & not for disruption now season is underway. Privately told an offer around €25m could force a rethink.

but we’re overpaying for Jota

I guess that’s just the market though

I definitely do see some of the Mané comparisons with his age, consistency, and ability to be a game changer

I mean clearly Klopp and the staff loves him, so that’s enough for me

Didnt we pay about £40mm for Ox with one year on his deal? Part time starter... I guess there was the English premium..

The key is the payment terms, too.. They may have taken less if we said £35mm straight up..

Obviously, Werner was plan A that fell through...

Between him and Sarr, I'm about split.. both have their pros and cons. I do like the fact that we don't have to worry about AFCON with him..

Yea I know that played a big part and makes a ton of sense

I think I like Jota a little more, but Sarr arguably has a higher ceiling

It appears Jota’s work rate on and off the ball, versatility (2 footed) and his character on and off the pitch were big deals to Klopp with Pep pushing hard for him. I think we may have over payed but not by much. Also, we have rarely not gotten our value for players recently. I got no complaints right now, extremely excited.

I’m almost equally stoked for Jota as I am for ThiagBro. He has been absolutely huge for the rise of Wolves, and his quality has spoken for him.

Now if we can get a CB then this has been a VERY successful window imo

yep, seems like that may be dependent on sales.. I imagine the outgoings will start soon...

luckily, with our first 3 CBs healthy, we have a couple of weeks to get one in..

Maybe the timeline moves up

Gomez (minor knock) and Matip (minor muscle issue) both miss out. Thiago named on the bench.

Oh well, Fabinho starting at CB. Gomez and Matip don’t make the bench so I guess each has a knock. So the 2nd match of the year we go to a Chelsea with 1 CB. I think we might need to buy a CB and unfortunately not a cheap one.

We absolutely need another CB. Gomez and Matip are made of glass. One knock to VVD and we are up shits creek without a paddle.

Interesting that he calls out Billy here..

Very true, especially with the other 2 not exactly ironmen. I keep thinking about a Fabinho-Milner pairing!!

Not sure how the ref didn't give that a straight red, but VAR was useful for once
