Nice way to start the day, signing Thiago.

Our midfield options now... I wonder if this means we will go with 3 senior CBs for the start of the season. Fabinho can be the defacto 4th CB (not ideal). I think Thiago could spell him as the #6, especially when we play against teams that sit deep...

It'll be interesting to see how Klopp plans to use Thiago. From a strictly CM perspective, Ox seems to be the odd man out (I know he's hurt). I see 5 clearly ahead of him.. Luckily, he's versatile..

Thiago
Henderson
Keita
Fabinho
Wijnaldum
Ox
Milner
Jones

Just read that we are essentially financing Thiago. Paying Bayern an even £5m/year for the deal. Edwards GOAT.

So are we keeping Gini? And for the record, the fact that we just signed one of the best MF's on the Planet for 25-30 is totally insane!!! I hope that Minamino and Shaq (fingers crossed) can give us some different attacking options that we did not have last year. I figure we are done with the incomings.

I'm not so sure..

I think if we can move Wilson, Grujic and Origi/Shaqiri.. you may see someone like Sarr come in.. and crossing fingers we still get a 4th choice CB..

So excited - I do believe this may be the highest profile signing we've made... definitely since Ive been following the club..

I didn’t think this transfer would happen under FSG. I’m happy it did though especially for the structure of the payments. Pool get him for a price that you see for loan fees; great business.

Weird situation with the captain being 5th or 6th on the talent list in midfield.

Thiago, Fabs, Naby lad is probably our best midfield 3 by Boxing Day

VERY interested to see what happens to Hendo if he isn’t in the best XI.

Jesus TF, if we can bring in Sarr I would be ecstatic.

I think everyone will be in for a surprise if they think Hendo is not going to see a significant amount of playing time this season... and in important matches..

Also, Klopp had Kehl as his captain at Dortmund and he was rarely a starter...

Oh Hendo is def. going to play a lot imo, and I think our preferred MF until Christmas is probably Fab, Hendo, Thiago/Keita

I also wouldn't be shocked if we don't see Thiago for at least 3 or 4 matches... We know Klopp and the team don't rush new signings out on the pitch if they don't have to

Nah I expect Thiago to play from the get go. He'll be eligible immediately for the League Cup game next week, and after a few practices he'll be ready.

He excels not only in passing and dribbling, but also he's a top notch defender with his excellent pressing, intercepting and tackling. All those world class skills get him on the pitch against Arsenal.

I cannot believe we’re only dropping 5 this year on him. That’s ridiculous.

It's an absolute STEAL... Like we didn't come a ton off the 30M Bayern wanted, but the way it's structured is such a massive boost for us
