Who here has a laser on their conceal carry weapon?

I’m looking at adding a m&P shield 9 to my safe as a new conceal carry weapon and am seeing it offered with the laser. Just curious how many folks have a laser on their carry gun.

I have one on a Ruger CLP .380 with a Crimson Trace laser. Works well.

I had one of those, with the built in red crimson trace laser under the front. It wasn't a hindrance or anything. Finding a holster was a challenge but I see them more available lately. If you want to use it effectively you need to practice your draw to perfect pressing the button when drawing.
Only reason I let it go was a buddy showed more interest in it and I never got the hang of activating the laser while drawing so I sold it to him.

I have a TRL 6 on my G48. More for the light than the laser

Have have an XDS with a crimson trace as my conceal carry.
I hear most defense use is in close range or confined space and thought a laser would help if you have no time to aim.
Alien gear holsters make some with laser attachments. I have an IWB and OWB holster and it fits perfectly. Prefer IWB to conceal.

Bought my wife a Ruger LCR 38 special w/ a Crimson Trace in the grip. I told her to put the red dot on what ever the threat was and pull the trigger 5 times.

Nah, I have one on a bodyguard .380 that I never use. I pick up sights faster than a laser and looking for the laser interferes with my draw stroke and sight alignment. Would much rather just use sights.

Karl Rehn did a study (2-3 years ago) of handgun shooters using lasers (red and green), red dot sights and conventional iron sights. All were used at varying distances.
Conventional iron sights were consistently faster and more accurate. I was one of the participants (during one of Tom Givens' defensive handgun classes that was held at Karl's facility).
I'll try to find a link to Karl's report.

I wonder if this has changed. More people get red dot mounted pistols each year and apparently it is faster as long as you train to not "fish" for the dot. A lot of people add unnecessary movement in their drawstroke to search for the dot but with training I have seen people pull off insane speed.

I think Rick Perry put Crimson Trace on the map when he was governor of Texas.Story was he was out jogging with his dog and a coyote was about to attack his dog.He pulled out his Ruger LCP with laser and killed the coyote.I bought me one in short order.
I like lasers personally,I have a green laser on my Glock 17,I killed a beaver in the bayou about 75 yards,off my tractor.Also have laser on a 10-22,I’ve killed a pickup truck load of armadillos with it.Much easier than trying to use a scope with a light.

Took me a little while to transition to a red dot. If you look at the competitive shooters, I would think they are all using a red dot and that would not be the case if it made them slower. Just a matter of taking time to make the change.

After I finished my runs with the different systems, I looked at Karl and said something to the effect of, "Man it's hard to find the dot. I'm looking too high." Karl replied by saying, "Everybody has that problem."
So I don't doubt what he said about devoting a lot of time to practicing with the RDS. You can take to the bank just about anything Karl says about handguns.
When I used to shoot Nick's PPC matches in Gramercy there was a fairly large contingent of guys shooting with RDS mounted pistols, and they were consistently the top shooters.

I bought a Ruger LC9 that came with a red laser with a very low profile and barely noticeable. My holster is Urban Carry Lieutenant style. It's the one where you pull it up and the pistol is readily accessible.
I actually have two conceal carry pistols. The other one is a Springfield XD subcompact 9mm. I owned a Virdian green laser, but the CR2 battery didn't last that long and now I rarely have the laser on the pistol. I did update the sights to a TrueGlo Green, which has been easy to sight in on the target.
What ammo does everyone have in their conceal carry magazines? I'm using the Winchester PDX-1 bonded 9mm.

Dog P365 with a TLR6. The flashlight is handy and I haven't had much trouble tracking the laser. Point and click.
