"He said smells like apples. Not meth and paper mill."

From Bogalusa, agree 100%

Damnit y’all shut up about Blue Ridge. It’s overrun with Yankees and Atlanta tards as it is.

I may be biased because I just moved, but Whidbey Island, WA is a pretty awesome, secluded place. It's tucked away from Seattle, but still close enough if you want to go (when the riot zone isn't operating), close to Vancouver, has a lot of great seafood and farm markets, close to snow skiing, and a couple hour drive to the desert part of Washington where it can get in the 90s during the summer and go tubing down the river. I'm honestly happy I got stationed here and will probably settle down here after I retire. It's literally just easy going life.

Naw originally from Houma but you are right there are quite a few baws from da parish up here. Never thought I would move to Mississippi and be out coon assed but my neighbor takes that title.

Love that place. Tons of great little towns along the pacific coast in WA. It's just a shame the state government is dominated by the batshit insane proggies from Seattle.

I drove up from Boston, through Vermont, through New Hampshire, Maine, and back to Boston.

Hands down, almost anywhere in rural Vermont would be my choice. Made me feel so wholesome and alive

If you really want to find a town that fits this bill, you need to do your own research. City data is a great resource.

If someone is telling you about it on the internet, it's probably not what you're looking for.

As a former oak grove resident I can tell you there isn't much charm to it unless you're really into chain restaurants and strip malls. Downtown Hattiesburg has a lot more going for it.
