Carmel California is goat. Highs in the 60s year round, Lows in the 40s & 50s. It’s basically perfect fall weather every day. Oh, and it’s gorgeous.

That sounds horrible, can you ever swim in an outdoor pool?

The Upper Peninsula of Michigan is so, so nice. Amazing place to be if you're into outdoorsy stuff.

Before I moved out of the Midwest, I took a road trip up to Copper Harbor. It was absolutely beautiful up there but I am not sure that I could deal with the isolation during winter months.

been there and also lived in Denmark for a year, interesting

other poster and Bryson City, NC, several small towns in that area

Mountain Home, AR is probably my favorite in that area.
