Stout I’ve never had to tarp or rather have my roof tarped. Is it a matter of making sure all areas are covered and then securing tarp? What do you secure with? 2x4s nailed down? I mean my husband would know but I’m just curious.

I used privacy fence planks and ripped them in half. Or 1x4 s if you can find them.

Yeah we just canned parts of my boys’ ripped up playhouse. It worked pretty perfectly.

You know...as shitty and toxic as this place can get at times, the humanity and goodness of the OT (and TD) is on full display in this thread. Real time information and offers of help and solace abound.

Once you get out of Lake Charles life is normal.

You could not be more mistaken. My location in cenla is on day 5 without power and will be very lucky to have it within 5 more days. Entergy is still working on the feeder ines into town and has not even begun connecting residences and businesses.

So, how about one of the trailer parks in Lake Charles telling their tenants that if they don’t pay September rent they won’t allow adjusters to their mobile home

It’s is crazy seeing that the light pole is Ok but house destroyed. Metal power pole bent in half down Hwy 14 south. I went up 171 North through Moss Bluff towards Longville and it was still very bad but again, line crews working everywhere

I know of one that supplies the tenants from their own well water and my understanding is if you don’t have water to your residence it’s deemed uninhabitable, therefore you cannot charge rent. Maybe someone with more knowledge can chime in.

I have no idea. I wouldn’t expect it to be legal, however they’re doing it. I’m not knowledgeable enough on Louisiana private property laws to know the legality of it.

1x2 strips is all you need. Make sure the tarp goes over the ridge or it's useless since water can still seep underneath. Picture frame the tarp with the 1x2 strips, pull the tarp tight to keep it from flapping and also add a few strips in the middle to help with that.

Similar to this but wrap the 1x2s on the edge in the tarp before nailing them down.

I’m not so clueless after all!

That said whomever paid $5000 for the pic on the previous page got shafted and that’s a shame on the part of the “repair people”. SMDH.

I saw the same exact shite the other day.

High line metal power poles that were probably 100’ tall were snapped in half like tooth picks

I haven't heard that one. The guy that owns Longville lake told the lot renters there that he would not have the power or water restored or the access cleared. He said they are on their own to recover their mobile home and move it or they can abandon it there.

His dad, that bought it years ago, once tried to evict the trash there so he could develop it into something nice but it was such a legal battle, and he in no way needed the money, he abandoned it. Maybe this is what his son needed to get the people out finally. Or his son is so rich he doesn't care. Not sure yet but they are all wanting to sue him.

Yeah. Had a company come baby today and said they’d do it for me but I’d have to sign something called a “Sub-2.” That pretty much ended the negotiations. I’m not signing a damn thing.

I took Hwy 27 south and then Hwy 82 back to Texas. The Holly Beach water tower collapsed and is a pile of rubble.

Almost every pole between there past Johnson Bayou is down.

It looks like someone mowed the whole marsh because the grass is so flat.
