From Ja'Marr's twitter yesterday:
@Real10jayy_ "Man y'all got too many mf problems. i'm just tryna ball and chill."

I don’t think he will, but I wouldn’t be totally surprised if he did and really wouldn’t blame him on taking the lower risk option

We seem to have a thread like this every year. Players want to play.

Chase is an average season from becoming the greatest receiver in LSU history, you think a guy with that work ethic is going to opt out. I do not think so.

It has nothing to do with work ethic.

Minnesota top WR Bateman just opted out
Just curious, but what does this entail in terms of repercussions? I assume they lose a scholarship? I know it doesn't really matter to these folks who are positive they'll be drafted.. just wondering. I just know that if I "opt out" of work... They'll opt out of paying me. I assume the same applies here, but the world is so weird now I don't even know.

This why women shouldn’t be allowed to post here.

I don’t think a firm rule has been set yet by any leagues or by the NCAA themselves
WSU revoked a scholarship of an opt out player but I think they saw what a PR nightmare that is and will likely back track
NCAA eventually will have to come up with a mechanism for these guys in terms of waivers and all that, otherwise there will be teams who try to take advantage of it for recruiting purposes
NCAA just got grilled by Congress for pulling scholarships due to injury, I doubt they have any interest in poking that bear in this situation

I doubt it, the second Bosa at Ohio st did it a few years after an injury and got drafted very high. Pretty much every other player that "took the season off" whether actually playing or not, had their draft status hurt.
I go by what Todd Gurley said despite a knee injury, he only know how to play one way and if he backs off, he doesn't think he could get it back. We saw that first hand with Sam Montgomery when he slacked off his junior year thinking he had a high selection guaranteed. We all know how that worked out.

quote:no, they didn't revoke his scholarship. Just told him to carry his arse out of the facilities. And he didn't exactly opt out like most others. He was part of a dumbass woke group who are trying to hold the PAC-12 hostage.

If he does he should be supported

There is a possibility but there is nothing Chase has ever done or said that leads me to believe he is the type of player to want to miss any football games that he is healthy and available to play in.
That type of player? There’s absolutely nothing wrong with electing to to play under these circumstances
