Home Depot vs Lowes

Which one and why?
Although I do like Ace for some niche stuff, I generally lean towards HD. Unfortunately the one close to me seems to be terribly staffed and it always out of everything I need forcing me over to Lowe's quite a bit. It's kind of growing on me.

HD is always a much better experience. Much nicer. Curbside pickup is so much better at HD, Lowes I had to go inside and then go pick out my own purchases b/c they didn't do it.

HD has 4 self check lanes plus at least 1 clerk checking people out. Lowes by me has 2 self check lanes and a clerk that handles returns and if she's not too busy will check you out.

I don't think either is better than the other. Both big corporate box stores that serve their purpose. I just go to the one that is closer to me when I decide I need something. When I'm at work, that is HD. When at home, that is Lowes. I don't really see a difference.

Used to like Lowe’s better but HD is my go to now

Whichever one is closer. I goto Home Depot now

The last few places I've lived, I've preferred Lowe's. Their stores tend to be more organized and better stocked. Since COVID, we've had good curbside experiences at both.

I live in Prairieville and Lowe's is where I go .The service is the difference maker. The HD I would go to had awful service-just awful. That how I wound up at Lowe's.

Lowe’s inventory seems junkier to me.

Lowe's. It's closer. No other reason.
And then only if what I want isn't at Germantown Hardware.

I prefer Lowes because they generally have what I need vs Home Depot which seems to be out of everything. But that maybe just my local one that is like that.
However, I generally stop at Home Depot more often, as it is on my way to and from work every day. If I go to Lowe's, I will have to go across town and usually after a long day at work, I just want to get the hell out dodge and not mess with traffic.

It all depends on the city. Last two places I lived the local HD was better. Now the Lowes is

Depends on the location. There’s several of both around my area. The Home Depot right by my office is pretty nice, but the other 2 in my area are crap. And there’s one Lowe’s not far from my house that is usually pretty good. But the one closer to my house is crap. Probably depends on the management and what they have working in the stores.

Typically whichever one I am closer to.

HD mobile app has me in and out of there in record time. Easy to look up a product's aisle and bay number.

There’s one of each on opposite sides of the Hwy where I live.
Depending on which direction I’m going determines where I stop.
A left hand turn is almost impossible on the 4 lane Hwy they’re on.
Other than brand specific tools they’re pretty much the same.
