Now let’s try not to be ugly toward anyone l. But I think Vilma was probably the true leader of that team in hindsight. What y’all guys think?

How are you going to start a thread like this with saying let’s not try and be ugly..aka Brees wasn’t the guy

It takes a team to win the Super Bowl. Pretty sure Brees, Vilma, Shockey, Sharper, Fujita, Will Smith, Jahri, and Deuce (behind the scenes) and even Reggie were the vocal leaders that year.
If you were looking for this years leaders, it’s probably a combo of Brees, Davis, Kamara, Thomas, Armstead, Cam, Jenkins and Morestead. Maybe Robertson and CGJ.

For the team as a whole it was Payton orchestrating the takeover of miami. As for players, it was obviously brees on offense. Vilma and fujita on defense.
Overall of the players on the team as a whole brees. Its been his team since late 2006. And he has carried on his back a bunch through those years. If you cant admit that, then you are biased.

Doesn't change that a big credit goes to Spinelees that season

I think Drew and Vilma were the two biggest leaders, but I wasn't in that locker room so what I think probably means nothing.

Offense - Brees, Shockey, Colston
Defense - Smith, Vilma, Fujita, Harper, Rapist
That defense had some solid guys for sure. Probably could have put Bobby McCray on there too

On defense, if we are being honest, we have to say Sharper. He brought a talent and a swagger that was missing.
The fact that he became a rapist doesn't change the fact he was an important defensive leader.

Sharper and it's not even close

Thomas Morstead because he secretly onside kicked without CSP’s permission.
CSP talked Morstead into letting him take credit for it.

Don't be stupid, it was Brees. But, that was back when he had two balls. Now Jenkins has one and Thomas has the other.

Sorry he hurt all of y’all political feelings since, but it was Brees.
