I find myself watching it every time I stumble on it while on tv. This movie is based on a book, but kind of flopped at the box office.
I think it’s pretty great.
Thoughts?

It's a really good movie.

Kinda like Pacific Rim, I had low expectations for it and it ended up being surprisingly entertaining. Nice little action flick that is rewatchable.

It's one of those movie that's easily rewatchable.

Great movie. Cruise was great.

I liked it a lot. I’m not sure why it didn’t get any love. Tom Cruise in an action movie? Sign me up!

It was a marketing disaster.

I've seen this movie in the theater and multiple times on the TV... For whatever reason I see the title "Edge of Tomorrow" and the Dennis Quaid environmental polar vortex movie comes to mind.
The title does not really fit the actual movie.

They changed the title multiple times and the marketing was all over the place. No one knew what it was about and I don’t think anyone really knew how to explain it in 2 minutes. I think had they focused on Emily blunt being a badass, it would have done better but it came off as just another Tom cruise action movie with zero plot. It actually has more plot than most movies he’s been in.

War Groundhog Day
Good movie to rewatch. Needed to develop the background story. Where and when did these bugs come from?

I was also really impressed Cruise let the script go ahead with his character being such a coward/shitty person? at the start.

I think it was also called: Live. Die. Repeat. Which is just as bad as edge of tomorrow.

I think this might be the only Tom Cruise movie I've seen since MI:II

Humorously, they didn’t use the comic it was based in’s title, which was “all you need is kill” or something I think.

Do you hate good movies?

No, I haven't gotten around to either Jack Reacher yet, and Eyes Wide Shut is on my list, too.
I'll catch Maverick in the theater... if they ever reopen.

I really enjoyed the shite out of that movie

It came out around the same time as Oblivion, another T Cruise movie and neither one did great, but both are great movies. I think they kinda killed each other.

Probably, two alien sci fi type movies in a short period. I hadn't heard of either one till they popped up on TV a couple years ago. Very much enjoyed both and some of the better sci fi stuff I've seen come out in recent years.
