'm a little surprised that an active player of a professional sports league can have some ownership stake of a team in another major league.

Why? I don't see it being a conflict of interest or anything. I can see them not being able to own a team in the league they play in, but not a different one.

It's nothing more than investment, no ability to make organization decisions
Most of those players most likely want to get into ownership one day and the money they are making will allow it
Look at Arod and the Mets

Middling NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers has a small stake in the Milwaukee Bucks.

More and more teams will sell small ownership stakes to athletes of colour in order to preemptively try to avoid “NFL ownership so white” attacks from the radical Marxist left.

Long past time to go back to ban land in grammy’s glass house.

Hope he bought low

Why?

David Glass bought the Royals back in 2000 for 96M and sold them last year for 1B!

That’s a 904M profit over 19 years. I think I would want a high %

You think that's crazy? I'm a part-owner of Amazon. It's worth 500 times the Kansas City Chiefs. I'm not that old either.

How much do you have to invest to be an “owner”. 5-10%

5% of their current value ($1B) would be $50 million...
