Twitter is being used for a lot of things that do not start out as nefarious (though some of them do) but eventually end up being nefarious.

Twitter is a national security threat

LINK

Among the many things, it is being used easily and successfully to ...

Organize mobs
Incite and empower mobs
Steal identity
Steal financial information
Affect economic change

And we're probably just at the beginning of discovering its potential for wreaking havoc on humanity.

I do find it funny though that the most perceived conservative (and not progressive) President ever, took a giant shite on twitter and continues to do it everyday to the horror of libs who have no choice but to take it and look stupid doing it.

Anyways, it will have to eventually be shut down. Not sure how I feel about it but there it is.

All this to say, consider using a different tweeter-like social media site. Preferrably one that allows full freedom of speech.

You can bet if the Dems take control they will shut down anything being used to organize against them or express thought not consistent with what they want.

8chan was shut down. Why not twitter if they can’t police themselves properly as an editor of content.

Can you imagine if a social media website was being used by the KKK or some Nazi group to organize gatherings and riots? That shite would be shut down with the quickness.

While I'd love to see Twitter shut down, I don't think your argument has much merit.

If we were in pre-internet times, and your charges were occurring through snail mail... do you believe we would shut down the US Postal Service?

it would be a clear violation of the 1st amendment, but the bill of rights doesn't really exist any more and shutting it down would probably help practically speaking.

All of social media needs to go, not just Twitter.

Twitter ain't going nowhere. Trump uses it daily to reach out to his supporters.

A twitter shutdown would do more good than anyone could possibly imagine.

even if this were true, do you honestly think ending twitter would stop all those occurrences?

Twitter isn't really an innovative idea from a technology perspective. They were just the first ones to identify that "people have short attention spans" and "how can we use a text system to exploit that".

We had chatrooms LONG BEFORE social media became the norm. LiveJournal and AOL ??

Hot take: Twitter should be allowed to operate as intended but anyone promulgating anti-American sentiments should be banned. And anyone doing that within American jurisdiction should be summarily tried and sent to a labor camp
