Question for north shore guys. Do y’all work on the south shore and commute, remotely or in town?

I commute from MV to BR every day just to give you an idea of how much better it is to live here.

You spend 3 hours a day commuting? Dude Mandeville is great and all but BR isn’t that damn bad to do all that. Please tell me your company covers gas.

In my situation it is very worth it. My commute is less than an hour each way. My house is near the interstate and my office is on the extreme east side of BR less than 3 mins from the interstate.

My wife lived in Mandeville for 25 years before we met and I had no problem moving. I have a company vehicle and gas card.

Lots of Northshore wives have affairs during the day while husbands are at work and kids are at school. Corona must be really messing with them.

I bought my first house in Covington after graduation LSU in 2002. I commuted to the south shore for 14 years. I passed up on many social events in NOLA because I didn’t feel like driving back across the causeway for them, got stuck in rolling convoys too many times to count, and got bored of living in the country so I moved to the south shore 4 years ago. The only thing I miss is having more space (I had 2 acres in Covington, now live in Metairie).

Move there, so you can join all the other transplants that move there and then tell everyone else it’s too crowded for more people.

Moved here from New Orleans, not BR. Bought a home in a subdivision I’m Covington in 2008. Sold that home and moved to a subdivision in Mandeville in 2016. Sold that home and built a home in old Mandeville in 2018. Made almost 200k on home sales.

If you want subdivision life, it’s here. If you want to walk to a limited amount of bars and restaurants, you can have that in old Mandeville or downtown Covington.

If you’re looking to party every night, this is not your place.

Public schools are great, but I send mine to private just so they don’t have to associate with those non-denominational heathens.

High crime rates. Bad schools. Mosquitos. Traffic.

Stay where you are. Terrible over here.

Hell if that’s the case then I guess I wouldn’t mind either. Still commuting up and down 12 has got to wear on the body and mind after so long. I could do it if it were only like 3 days a week.

Yeah, all those blind hairpin corners and dramatic changes in grade on I-12, it should be a proving ground for Porsche.

It’s about 90 miles of

Do you live there? What’s the story on that neighborhood? It always looked nice but I know it’s close to Fontainebleau High which leads to bad traffic.

It’s “Grandé Maison” and here’s the Link to the HOA.

It’s originally a Bennett Bros. Development, it’s not the Sanctuary but it’s very nice for a Mandeville S/D.
