What's the smallest house that you could tolerate living in?

Pretty small. I would like to live out in the country with a shotgun style house. With a nice outdoor patio area.

ETA: And a workshop.

I live in an 800sqft house. Been in it for a year now before we build on our property. It fricking sucks. No washer/dryer and no kitchen.

Have already lived in 950 square feet with wife and one child. Wasn't very tolerable so I would guess around 1100 or 1200 square feet.

No kids, just a wife and a cat. We bought a place in March. The smallest we looked at was about 1200 square feet. The place we bought is a 1600 square foot ranch with an equally sized finished basement. Ya'll can keep that tiny house bullshite, sliding beds, showers and appliances in and out like a Japanese jigsaw puzzle.

I grew up in a 1400 sq. ft. house with no issues. Lived in it til the day I got my own home. It was easy bc I was the kid and had no kids of my own to drive me crazy. Looking back, I have no idea how my parents did it. My kids would drive me insane in a house that small.

I lived in a 2 br/2 ba 1,000 sq ft apartment right outside of DC for a little over 3 years, was terrible. You can literally hear every noise going on from different rooms and space gets tight really quick. Was married and had a toddler

No wife or kids.

I live in a ~300sqft apartment with a loft (so ~500sqft but you can't stand up in part of it)

Being solo it's not terrible, but it would be hard with more than one person.

I didn’t know they built houses without kitchens? Do you live in a dorm?

Our house in BR when our kid was born was 1,530 or so and would have been just fine for a while. I do think we would have eventually outgrown it because the two smaller bedrooms were pretty damn small.

Wife, son, and I live in a 1200 sf house. We have a daughter on the way, which is going to strain things. The only way we do it is we have a detached two car garage.

This is the OT. Anything under 12,000 sf is going to feel cramped.

When my daughter was born we were in a 850sqft cottage. It was ok while she was a new born, but got cramped really quick when she could start moving and playing.
