I agree with this all the way. Hopefully, O has a few bigger Oline prospects than have been mentioned. I just think we will need to beef up the interior a bit after only taking projects at OG last year.

Great points and I agree. 3 seems the likely number unless they swing big and hit.
Don't think Colliers spot is in question currently. Langston's is likely different. I get he's a talent but as long as Foreman is a real possibility there's no way I take him considering what weve already got. But I thought the same for Brown until it became obvious we were gonna take him, so what do I know?
Byrd is interesting. Kid played DL last year and maybe no season this year yet he's this highly ranked kid everywhere. How do we know how good the kid is playing OL?

I’m a big fan of loading up along both LOS, but I agree this is a year where I would be ok with taking 3 OL total.

LSU is guaranteed to lose at least 2 (Deculus and Shanahan) with a possible 3rd loss if Ingram tests the NFL early. Lots of true freshmen, RS Freshmen, and Soph along Oline currently.

Korey foreman just posted this on Twitter

“ if they make me choose between my senior season or going to college ... please believe i’m headed to my first camp .. no questions asked”

Doesn’t hurt to “reportedly” be in a good place with him

I would wager that there is NO WAY we take more than 4 OL total.

I think 4 is the number no doubt I see no way they don’t take at least 4 OL...I could easily see Leigh Dellinger Pennington and Pounds or interchange the last 2 with somebody the staff is on we haven’t heard about yet but I definitely see them bringing in 4 at least

We don’t need another RB in this class

People are probably only thinking of this year and next. Lets say after next year - Curry would be leaving as a senior and its very possible TDP and Emery leave after their junior seasons (definitely 1, possibly both) - you'd feel comfortable with Bradford and Kiner as the only experienced RB's?

That said, whoever we would sign next year would also be in the stable, but as true freshmen.

Dont forget, we recruit now what we anticipate to lose after next year, not this year. Id feel much better adding another to Kiner and having 3 upper classmen instead of just Kiner and Bradford.

I actually agree that we should take 2 this year and I think the plan is just that but only if the right guy. Just can't figure out the numbers.

They could lose 4 OL in back to back years. Rosenthal is definitely a candidate to leave early too. They need 2 OT 1 OG and 1 OC for sure

Nope, Todd the punter must stay.

Forgot about Rosenthal being a RS Sophomore. Him leaving early is not out of the question.

That said '22 is set up for a big OLine haul with a number of elite prospects high on LSU. I think LSU takes a minimum of 5 in '22, which would make 3 OK this year.

I would prefer another elite RB to pair with Kiner. I like 5 RB's on a roster myself. Trying to figure out the numbers is a real challenge like LSUFANVA has stated.

The reason the numbers are so tight is due to the glut of DE/OLB in this class.

I think if the numbers are working out like have deen discussed, and we add another RB and 4 OL total.. then i think Carter gets processed. Sad, cause i like his game but him and Naquan Brown are very similar so i see him as first to go

Yeah I agree with you. Collier is a take no matter what. I want him bad, don’t want to jinx it. Hopefully Bill Busch will put the press on.

And if I was a betting man, I would not bet on Langston being in this class. Just a gut feeling.

I don’t know if anyone knows about Byrd, but he is a highly sought after prospect. I think there will be other programs who end up in a bidding war for him. I think we will just step aside in the end. LSU seems to know when to walk away.

Collier has a few guys ahead of him on the wishlist, so he isn’t likely to be pushed until we miss on others.

I can't speak for the coaches obviously, but I would have Collier higher on my board than Mukuba.

Not sure if y’all listened to O this morning, but when asked about taking a player early (in 2020 class) a BIG recruit that is having his season impacted (would think it’s Foreman), we have a scholarship ready and they’re looking into it. Man I hope that happens.

O said earlier in the interview that he believes LA kids will play this year, so not an LA recruit.
