Apparently as long as we stay in phase 2, virtual Learning is optional. If Honor Code moves us back to phase 1, which he seems to be just about pissing himself waiting to do, then virtual learning will be mandatory.

WTF are working parents supposed to do? This seems like a massive economic bomb waiting to go off. The ripple effect of parents being forced to choose between going to work or watching their children could could be devestating.

I think we should take a page out of the Democrat playbook on this one:

“This action will disproportionately effect poor/minority communities who rely on dual income to sustain their livelihood, and public school to watch/feed their children during the day. The whole thing smells of racism and, frankly, I’m appalled”

Actually, everyone will be virtual learning. The plan in my wife’s district is, if you choose to send your kids to school (high school) they will be assigned days to attend based on an A/B schedule and when they go to school they will sit in the same classroom all day, and do virtual learning on their Chrome Books. Teacher in classroom will be teaching to her students online both at home and the students scattered in the school as well as supervising the student in her room. Lunch will be brought to the classrooms and bathroom breaks will be on a schedule.

Still seems like teachers wouldn't want to put themselves in that situation. It's got to be hard to keep the attention of 20 2nd graders. Now try and do it while they are at home.

The other LA Teachers Union says they wont open schools up with defunding the police, eliminating charter schools, money for illegals and like 100bil for themselves

Ah, I see I’m what I described is just for Lafayette. Apparently each district gets to come up with their own guidelines.

Still. Racism.

Throw in the fear porn being pushed on top of everything

If Trump came out tomorrow stating that schools can't open for another 6 months I would bet good money that kids would be back in school next week and he would be called a nazi for not allowing kids the opportunity to learn.

This will not work the way they think it will work. The word clusterfrick comes to mind.

We really have become a nation of wussies.

How do they sit in the same classroom all day in high school when they each have completely different classes and schedules? Honors, AP, different electives, different math classes, different teachers for the same grades?

How do elementary school kids who have to go to babysitters/daycare/grandmas sit on chrome books all day? 25 daycare kids are going to sit on computers?

Christ, is that for real? Hell if you teach in an inner city school the virus is the least of your problems, your "students" are whats gonna kill you, your will should have been written on day 1.

At some point, people are going to figure out that this is blatantly discriminatory against the poor, and school districts will get their asses handed to them in court.

Rich families who can afford the internet and are worried about the health risks get to keep their kids at home. Poor families who can't afford the internet don't have that option.

Louisiana is an arse-backwards state that still has teachers' unions. They can fix that if they want. Tennessee doesn't have teachers' unions.

Leave the teachers alone. They want to sit at home and do nothing while still getting paid.

Today ran a story about a 21-year-old who went out with his friends and now his dad is on a vent. “With schools considering reopening, how many people must die for us to be so selfish as to reopen schools??!!?”

Only a slight paraphrase.
