re: Benefits of work from home

No commute is the best benefit. But I was already working from home a fair amount before this hit. Now my department isn't even allowed to go back in.
I liked being able to go to the office when I want and just focus on work. Hard to do at home with dogs and other distractions. I prefer a balance of office and WFH.

During meetings you can do the TV anchor trick.

My wife and I both work from home. Lunch time booty is always nice. So is cracking open a beer at 3:00.

I agree with all the advantages stated by the other posters to this thread.
The only disadvantage that I have seen but that no one else has posted about is that, by working form home, I find it harder to "turn off the work button". The drive home from work pre-COVID was a good time to decompress, shift to "home mode" frame of mind. Now I feel I'm at work 24/7, harder to rest my mind about work items in the evenings/weekends.

It’s quite awesome if one’s home situation can accommodate it. Damn glad mine does.

Everybody I know who is working from home absolutely hates working from home

No traffic to and from work so my workday is essentially extended, win/win. Oh and no pants.

Lunch hour = nap time.

The benefits of work from home are also the downsides. My bed, my dog, my fridge, my stove, my tv, etc.

I have adjusted to WFH and I really don’t want to go back to the office. WFH is massively better in every way.

I like being able to run errands, out up laundry, dishes etc. when I have a few minutes. Makes the evening less stressful and relaxing because the chores are already done.

If you can do your job 100% wfm... you should ask yourself “why can’t an Indian do it?”

Less distractions and no commute are the biggies to me, plus generally being more rested and comfortable.
I find I work longer hours and get more done at home than in the office.

My wife works from home and loves it. Shes currently approved through the end of October. I did it for two weeks when quarantined and hated it.

Never had sex in the office until now!

Obvious benefits have already been stated, one thing I’ll add is that working at home is actually more conducive to being better at my job.
I service clients throughout the country, so if an important client emails me at 6:30 at night, I don’t mind hopping on my computer to draft a quick response, rather than letting it sit til morning. When prospecting a new client, this is extremely important.
Prior to this, my office hours were 7:30a-4p, with a 45 min commute each way. Now I typically work from 6a-8a, then take about 2.5hr break to workout, eat shower, get back on the computer and follow up anything that needs to be done. That’s usually an hour or so then I’ll step out to run any necessary errands. I’ll finish up my day working for an hour or 2 in the late afternoon or evening. I really love the flexibility to work “on demand”.

In a meeting the boss just covered Diversity and Inclusion. I just muted that shite. Really would have sucked to sit through that nonsense.
Mute means they can’t hear you.
You can still hear them.
You still had to sit through it.
