He was long dead before the shots were fired at Fort Sumter.

Why are you asking this? Every pre-woke era statue is coming down

his politics was one of the drivers behind succession

He was a vocal proponent of slavery.

“But I don’t want to go among mad people," Alice remarked. "Oh, you can’t help that," said the Cat: "we’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad." "How do you know I’m mad?" said Alice. "You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn’t have come here.”

So, you've figured out they're mad, yet you are trying to figure out the logical reasons the mad are doing things?

Slavery is dead in America. Go protest the countries that have it now.

I've come to the conclusion this country isn't worth saving.

Didn’t realize they had removed it.
Wonder if they defaced his grave at St Phillips church.

Even for 1800’s standards Calhoun was a racist

It was a statue of a person so it must come down.
I bet over 90% of the people involved with tearing it down don’t know who he was or a thing about him.
And those that did are criminals like the rest. If you want something removed, due it lawfully.

Charleston has a cuck mayor that gets told what to do by carpetbagger’s blue haired children and their black friends.

Because Andrew Jackson wanted to hang him 200+ years ago and didn't get to do so.

I've posted this before but if you could pin the civil war on one guy he would be it. Dude was a dick. I get what he stood for and I often wonder if it was his belief in liberty or a love of himself.
I'll take Andrew Jackson's word over his, that's for sure.
