These rioters think this is all just a game—that they can behave like savages, and there won’t be repercussions.
And apparently the mayor of Portland agrees.
We’re approaching the point where no man or woman will enter the law enforcement profession.
I don’t blame ‘em; their hands are all but tied.

It was a Fed who domed her, not some city cop, she’s fighting a losing battle, and she shouldn’t have been there if she feared repercussions

I'm not looking forward to this school year. Part of my job is teaching our school district's Law and Public Safety class. I'm not sure how I'm going to look these kids in the eyes and tell them that they should be cops. While I know that it's a noble profession if their hearts are in the right place, it's still a complete shitshow due to the politics.

The feds are there to protect federal property.
It seems like they are doing a good job of making sure the federal government property is not looted or burned down.
De-escalation does not mean allow crowd to destroy property and when they are done the crowd leaves.
