I've always thought he pretty racist. Kami may as well have been Massa Kami but they already had Master Roshi.

How about the saiyans turning into giant monkeys who couldn't control their rage? How racist is that? Then they turn into blonde haired Aryan Gods when they learn to control their power. What kind of message does that send?

Considering Goku also abandons his children to let another man raise them...

True. I love it when they can bring him back, he has a toddler son, and Gohan, and he says no, thats ok. Time for me to move on.

Dragon Ball Z is part Way of the Dragon, part Buddhist Mythology, part Hindu mythology, part King Kong, part The Wolfman, part Superman, part Terminator, part Star Trek, etc. it borrows from a lot of different cultures and entertainment genres.
Goku the Monkey King is a popular figure in Chinese folklore, and young Goku’s appearance and personality are largely based on those legends.
Goku being a superpowered alien was clearly an homage to super man. For the transitions to monster status, they simply combined the full moon monster transformation of werewolf stories with the giant destructive power of King Kong.
In their martial arts fights, they borrow heavily from Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan. Heck, in Dragon Ball, Master Roshi fights under the fake name Jackie Chun and uses technique straight out of “Drunken Master”, a classic Jackie Chan film.
The arc with the Androids was an obvious nod to the Terminator series.

The Android arc debuted in 1991. There was no Terminator "series" at that point, just the one movie.
The Androids are built off of a character, Android 8, that appeared in Dragon Ball. He appeared in 1986 and was patterned to look like Frankenstein's monster.
So while I agree with several points you make, I don't think the Terminator franchise had much (if any) impact on Dragon Ball.

True but the Trunks arc does kind of seem terminatorish

Pretty sure the creator admitted that the Trunks coming from the future plot was inspired by Terminator. I mean, Gohan is basically John Connor and Trunks is Kyle Reese.
